This is a shit future. One where everybody hates everybody, people die in endless wars in the thousands each day, and even with such great knowledge and technology, nothing can save them. So, in essence, this is Warhammer 40k, with a new coat of paint. Of course, if your human, the CHG treats you quite nicely, and life isn't entirely shit. Many people have luxuries we couldn't imagine simply due to technological progression. That still doesn't make it all a whole lot better.
