Fleet 1 joins the battle.
The fortress fires its weapon, and in unison with the fleet, fighters are sent and swarm the ship.
THE TUMBRIANS MAY HAVE SHOWN YOU MERCY, BUT WE SHALL NOT
A supershield is erected around the core of Cartesia's superweapon...
But something's wrong.
Due to extended periods of heavy use, the right core of the GCS-Crusader explodes.
Meanwhile, the TPN military has successfully conquered a large part of [REDACTED], and they do not need support from the TPN fleet anymore.
Declare.

From firing a superweapon, being fired upon and disabled at the same time, the massive stress put on the relay finally takes its toll.
It creates a massive and powerful explosion, either destroying or heavily damaging every structure near it. The fleet is destroyed.
A message for reinforcements did get recorded but it is not sure if it was broadcasted before the explosion.
Well I guess this is where Tumbria's faults come in place haha.
Tumbria has been space capable for less time than the Xbox 360 has been out.
They have no shielding methods, and their armor is shit.
If that were a Terran fleet it'd probably come away with a few hull breaches if ANY.
While I agree that ships can have different advantages and disadvantages, in the end, all fleets are kind of equal. And since your Terrans use the 8-of-the-same-kind fleet, their normal ships would actually be bested by a medium ship.
Also, if I were fighting with someone and my attacks do little damage, just because someone's fleet is 'advanced', you can expect the same from me.
I came back ready to sprite a massive explosion but thank god you stepped in Greg, I really couldn't be bothered with it. Declare!
Actually, I have the Same Large, Medium, Small thing going on. Frigates have just become obsolete, but are still used as long-range reconnaissance vehicles, as well as exploration vehicles.
Also They are considerably stronger BECAUSE
1. The technology that is used in them, and I have a doctrine outlining it if you'd like to see it.
2. Their fault. I can tell you what that is in PM too, but I don't want to say it in open air.
They NEED to be stronger in order for their backstory to work, which Is WHY I accept this critical fault.
Declare after Raga.
Also all this shit concludes to me that we need to make up systems that make combat less broad and balanced.
Not to say so very strongly, but Battles are decided by numbers unless some bastard comes along with some really eccentric thing that's not really even a ship. Like Oneiroi.
Balance-wise it's the same. We should really add in a technical aspect and raw out what's good and what's not against what.
Which while I'm speaking I'll give a hint about Terran ships: Remote detonated explosives work great on them. Ballistics, traditional Lasers, Anti-Matter, and warhead detonated weaponry is moot against their systems for the most part.
I'd very much like to see that Doctrine.
And you don't have to PM their fault.

With the sudden intervention of their allies, the Gito's have very little to do other than mop up a remaining small ship - which is quickly fired upon with all of the main laser based weapons. Although the core of the superweapon had been supressed by the shielding, the laser had still cut the ship clean in half - widespread fires and power failures were descending upon the ship. It had bought them enough time to launch several large evacuation rockets however, the acts of the TPN has saved millions of lives and Cartesia is once again in debt to them.
Among the survivors of the wreckage is Admiral Urb, still jarred by the speech he had to give to his men - the one that was supposed to be his last.
I'll PM You the full doctrine (Ironically, since Dmaster, My only ally for the Terrans only read the De-classified version)
Maybe something like the technology tree but less limiting, stuff which could give people an extra edge in combat such as extra armor plating or phaser technology would have to be researched but somebody could happily build a powerful fleet using conventional tech without even looking at it.
As it stands, I believe you are allowed to fit your fleet with certain technologies so long as you announce you are building it and show how many turns it's going to take to fit your fleet with it.
Once production is done, you can tell what the benefits/drawbacks of that technology is, and if it seems overpowered we could always do a vote to see if we can balance it or remove it.
I know how to defeat the Terrans easily.
Oh. Ha. Hahahaha.
This will do.
Further research into rift-tech is started by the TPN, perhaps it could be used for more than transportation. (20 turns)
(Note: Rift-tech is a TPN exclusive technology.
...Well, except for the fact that they got it from an old ally, but that's besides the point.)

Also, I think I should use my superweapon more for what it was intended for, smashing things together, and shielding things from danger.
I would suggest against using the armor section against me as it is virtually un-acquirable in reality.
Also OH SHIT I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GONNA DO.

Repairs begin on the Word Trade station. Scaffolding is set up throughout the damaged areas as all the fire is doused.
After finding faults in The Terran Navy's shielding systems, they immediately call for the fleet to get to drydock for improvements on the shielding systems.
The Terrans begin to shift their ships into orbit for upgrades. All Warrior Class+ Cruisers will be fitted with [REDACTED] in 5 turns.
Furthermore, The Terran Imperial Army begins researching Individual Portal technology.
The Mining barge finishes dropping off ores, and returns to mining.
What makes you think it has anything to do with your armor?
[editline]19th June 2012[/editline]
:3
Ah fuck You sneaky bastard I know what you're up to.
Oh no, it's not as easy as upgrading your shields with this one :3
And besides, no-one else in the galaxy has Rifting technology. Your forces don't even know about it.
Your faction's bonus is it's heavy armor and Gamma weapons. Let me have my rift-tech.
I'm not against it but I know what you're up to with that sneaky Rift-tech ;)
Oh yeah And my Faction's last thing Is the Intergalactic warp drives thing
And I'm not upgrading shield's I'm adding a whole new type of shield xD
The reason Terran ships can have such extensive defensive measures without compromising mobility is because they have really powerful Capacitors which allows them to do a lot of energy stuff.
Oh. I know something really cool we could do.
PM me what you think I'm gonna do with it, and we can do something pretty cool together if you're right.
I think instead of attacking Ragamuffin like a madman I'm going to add a planet in this time.
You guys like my explosion, by the way? :v:
It's pretty.
[editline]19th June 2012[/editline]
Not super on topic, but 1337th poster should get to pick the next captain for the thread name. (If we even get that far)
That vote to remove garry's planet was passed, and no one really did anything about it. Could I get rid of it in my next declare?
Go ahead
[editline]19th June 2012[/editline]
Also we should conduct our Planet/ground battles on Picturewars.
Declare.
(Edit: I was thinking about that for ground battles. But, I would need to improve my foot soldier spriting before hand)

(Fixed the pixelated warp gate and made it look slightly less shitty, removed dumb planet.)
The Tau warp out of the system. Fully utilizing the warp rift technology.

Once on the other side, the Tau hail the inhabitants of the new solar system.
Greetings! We are the Tau Empire. We are allies with the Earthlings that have escaped from this system, and we are proud to announce that we have linked our systems together through use of warp rift technology. We are hoping to expand and improve our Empire by establishing mining stations and possibly new colonies in this system.
(Speaking of mining, there should be a large asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, I might add that in at a later date.)
I think it'd fit in more if we did it in FP. Less confusion to the observers.
We used to have a PW section you know.
Hey milk, did you read my PM yet?
If so, wanna do it?
[editline]19th June 2012[/editline]
Also Dmaster, do you really think earthlings would allow you to colonize their home system? :v:
Colonize our home system? AHAH
HAHAHAHAHA
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
Declare.
Perhaps not colonize, just mine a bit of stuff, maybe.

Terran Aerospace seems to be pretty busy right now, with several military fleets deployed. One fleet looks to be standing by next to another fleet near Jupiter. It is unknown of which Civilization this might be.
They Hail the Tau.
Welcome, Then! As per Universal law, you must acquire a license to mine. Licenses to mine in our system are 100,000 UMC.
(UMC stands for Universal Market Credit. 1 UMC is equal to 1 Euro in our time.)
Declare
Ah, ICSU, how I missed you.
[editline]19th June 2012[/editline]
wait what warp rift
RIPOFF
no seriousely they are completely unrelated to rift-tech
rift-tech best tech
warp rift for SCRUBS
