oh god that video was hard to watch without laughing
4-25 year olds being the prime targets for being susceptible to swine flu.
Wasn't that kids, diseased and elderly instead?
I already have H1N1. :woop:
:woop: I do to! I got it Wednesday
:woop: I do to! I got it Wednesday
I got some random flu a few weeks ago. Got insane dizziness and massive body aches. Never got it checked out, so I don't know what it was.
I had to get into a car line to get my H1N1 vaccine or whatever and the line was, I kid you not, miles long. I drove, and drove, and drove and never reached the end of it. Ended up just getting a normal flu shot. Didn't bother waiting in line.
i think i have swine flu, i have a sore throat, cough, body aches, runny nose etc. And there is NO way i would get that vaccine.
i think i have swine flu, i have a sore throat, cough, body aches, runny nose etc.
Congrats, you have the flu. Post about it.
I know. It's really sad.
I don't know, I think it looks really faked!
Your sentence structure is hard to understand. "Problem is, the vaccine is weaker in others." Who is being referenced here? Who is the vaccine not weaker in? "The body rejects the code (i.e. A transplant patient who has received a new body part)." The body rejects the code? What is this code, and why shouldn't it be rejected? As I understand, the whole point of a vaccine is to make a certain virus known to the body so that when it comes into contact with that same virus it can more easily identify and destroy it before more serious consequences occur. So what makes it's potency at the time of identification so important? How could we track down the original contractor of the flu? That would require knowledge of every person to get the flu since it's creation. Without that information all you have is at best a large group of candidates. And why should we abandon the use of the vaccine for the search for this "original antibody"(why is it the most powerful anyhow?) when we don't even know if it's possible to find?
It's funny how you ask so many questions when you think you know all the answers.
I just got the swine flu vaccination yesterday for free because they were offering it at our college, 4-25 year olds being the prime targets for being susceptible to swine flu. Thought I'd share some random stuff about the experience if you're considering getting it or whatever. It was really quick, just a prick of a needle, it literally took two seconds. Felt a pinch and then they were all "bye". Arm a little tender at point of entry; smaller people have complained of feeling their entire arm aching with pain and becoming weak and such. Seems safe enough, aside from that one story about the girl who got it and now can only function when running forwards or walking backwards (anyone want to post that video?). Video found by Pigeon87, thanks. It apparently takes about a week to kick in, and you can feel side effects like vomiting, lightheadedness, fever, and other such general sickly feelings, usually a day or two after getting the shot. Ironically, that's exactly enough time to get the swine flu and get over it by the time the vaccination kicks in. At the same time, those symptoms are pretty alike to flu, so, you know, whatever. I'm actually feeling feverish at the moment, so I'm pretty sure I've got swine flu. (I'm not serious; it's just the vaccine, I'm sure. I hope.) Aside from that blah blah, if you get it you can either get a killed version of the swine flu inserted into your arm via needle, or a "live" intranasal spray. I'm not entirely sure what that implies, but I'll leave that up to your imagination. Anyone else have any experiences with the swine flu/vaccination?
Side effects like Vomiting, Lightheadedness, Fever.... Sounds like the Vaccine works by giving you H1N1 and it's up to your body to fight it off and become Immune!
holy fuck i had swine flu! i didnt know until last week! i had it like 3 weeks ago. i crapped myself when sumone said " yeah swine flu's going round the island. scary lol
Side effects like Vomiting, Lightheadedness, Fever.... Sounds like the Vaccine works by giving you H1N1 and it's up to your body to fight it off and become Immune!
Thats how almost all vaccines work :downs: Giving you a weaker or slightly less harmful version of the virus you are immunizing from so your body's antibodies can pick it up and work on the cure, instead of you getting the full blown thing and them being stopped by the virus taking over, or them fighting to hard to have time to create a cure.
I got the swine flu vaccination around four to five days ago, and i've felt like shit since then.
It's the mercury. [editline]09:53PM[/editline]
I'd rather get the flu and be out for a week then be fucked for the rest of my life.
And the vaccine isn't even effective.
1:40 on that vid, AIR GUITAR! FUCK YEAH BABY! And I am not going to get that vaccine.
not going to get that, the world is overreacting it is just like normal flu not like a SUPER-MUTANT-YOUWILLGROW5HANDSFROMYOUARMPITS-flu. [editline]11:54PM[/editline] oh,hey 200th post.
My stepmom (who is a nurse) told me that some woman at the hospital she works at got one of those shots and had to be taken out of the hospital in a wheelchair. Needless to stay, I am staying the fuck away from those shots.

Sentence structure isn't hard to understand. You just don't get the concept. 2. Who is being referenced here? Normal human beings. Who else gets a fucking H1N1 vaccine genius? The vaccine isn't weaker in the peoples body where the code is accepted. 3. The code? Ever hear of DNA/RNA? Guess not. 4. It's important to get the strongest antibody. That's why I.D. is so important. 5. You track it down from the first patient to come in with the flu like symptoms. Not to hard to find with hospital paperwork. 6. You aren't abandoning the use of the vaccine, but like I said, finding the host holds the strongest form of a curing RNA strain. 7. It's the most powerful because the virus needs to keep the host alive in order for it (the virus) to live. You think the virus wants to kill itself? 8. The host is always possible to find. They (the CDC) found the monkey in the African Congo that started the outbreak of Ebola Kikwit.
i analyze your points and see if they apply to you. Since they're the points you made, i address them first. And my being an asshole is a way to goad responses from otherwise apathetic people. Is that the purpose of yours? Humor me. Your knowledge is just as important as mine is. I fail to see the importance of the origin of the flu when the topic is prevention of future fatalities.
NERD FIGHT!! oh jesus. You two are ridiculous.
NERD FIGHT!! oh jesus. You two are ridiculous.
I'm having fun.

I didn't get the vaccine in time, got swine flu, and then came down with a secondary lung infection. Worst two weeks of my life, I failed several of my classes because of that too. :crying:
The vaccination gives you swine flu and kills your ammune system, not to mention makes your future kids fucked up.
Well, I'd rather not get injected because it seems pretty pointless because it will most likely mutate. What?
Anyone who gets the vaccine is a retard, it does more harm then good. If your thinking about getting it, don't!
I have swine flu and pneumonia at the same time right now. I kinda wish I had the vaccination. [editline]12:39PM[/editline] I look like my avatar when I wake up in the middle of the night.
I guess i'm immune already since i had it last christmas(don't say it wasn't around then because it was) And i lived. I'll get the vaccination if they offer it but I'm not going to actively pursue it.
I don't care. I might get it, it's not like smallpox or polio, it's the flu. I had the flu. Shit i'm getting this.
Hypochondriac 4
I already had Swine Flu. Got it while visiting an Amusement park during the last few days of summer. First day or so was INTENSE BODY PAIN, then it was pretty much an enhanced cold.
Took the flu shot yesterday. Feeling just fine. Don't understand all the scare behind it.
