• BP Oil Spill's Genocide of Animals (Sort of Graphic)

Those poor birds in that video and the creatures in the OP. :smith: If Obama is going to make BP pay - can he make PETA pay at the same time? Both are responsible for the deaths of thousands of creatures.
Good thing we all know that BP is Beyond Petroleum. Really is too bad for the [del]birds/fish[/del] entire ecosystem of the gulf.
Yea, I like shrimp. I just really never have it because my parents won't but any. They aren't shellfish people. I understand the fact that animals do more than just look good, but we don't eat seagulls or dolphins. A lot of the seafood in the world comes from farms, not the ocean. Now, some of it does but not all. The humpback whales, whale sharks, and whatever else there is, don't only live in the Gulf. Plus, we don't hunt them or fish for them. And, the oil sits on top of the water so they aren't in danger unless they surface. I know the whales do, but not really often.
The oil is not just on the surface. Crude oil is of a higher density than refined oil, and therefore most of it drifts just below the surface is a soupy mess of water, oil, and dispersant. We may not eat Humpback, or whale shark, but other countries do (see: Japan). The populations of these animals are very fragile, and they need as many kin as they can get, whether they be in the Gulf of Mexico, or the Sea of Japan. Not only that, but the Bluefin Tuna go to the gulf to spawn. Bluefin tuna as you hopefully know, are dangerously close to extinction through overfishing, and it's not stopping anytime soon. This is really, really bad for the sea and coast life of the gulf, and therefore really really bad for us.
Coming from a vegetarian who is not some PETA lunatic, this makes me sick to my stomache.
Coming from a vegetarian who is not some PETA lunatic, this makes me sick to my stomache.
Why are you a vegetarian? Meat is tasty.

I thought birds flew. not went for a swim and got oiled. As for the fish, it looks like it died happy
I thought birds flew. not went for a swim and got oiled. As for the fish, it looks like it died happy
A lot of those coastal birds dive in the water to catch fish. As for the dolphin it probably suffocated on oil getting clogged in it's lungs. Or just got poisoned from ingesting join while swimming through it.
those pictures were quite sad. oh and, it seems that the oil might come the entire east coast US(but not canada.:haw:). source: http://kdka.com/travel/oil.slick.vacation.2.1733965.html

If I see anyone dump oil in the ocean I will make them chug a gallon of gasoline.
It's not a crime against nature when we swat flies now, is it?
Those are pests. There are literally quintillions of those flying around right now that do nothing but carry disease. These birds and other fish are not tiny little, annoying, ugly, useless insects.
Same with mosquittos. And some humans... Yet when these die people get mad.
Unfortunately.
Will you fucking idiots stop caring about the damn oil that's lost and think about those 'weeeehh weeehh poor frackin animerls' Those poor fucking animals help us live on this god damned rock, without them we don't have a ecosystem down there to live off of, then we got a bunch of fucking fish we can't eat because it's covered in your precious oil. They say the leak itself may not stop until Christmas, the problem of cleaning up this shitpile is going to last YEARS, and I mean 50+. Without that ecosystem down there, our economics take a huge hit. Your precious fucking oil may spread all the way up to New York. We may no longer have a usable coast on that side of the US. Florida and places like New Orleans are sure as dead without their ecosystem due to the businesses that need it. SO WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO BITCH ABOUT PEOPLE BITCHING ABOUT THE BIRDS, THINK IN THE LONG TERM. WE MAY HAVE HALF, OR EVEN ENTIRE STATES PRACTICALLY GONE OR USELESS BECAUSE OUR PRECIOUS FUCKING ANIMALS WILL BE GONE TO BECAUSE OF YOUR PRECIOUS FUCKING OIL Yes we have farms, but the majority comes from the gulf. Just because we don't eat those certain animals doesn't mean they aren't important in keeping other animals in check, etc.
http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=22360891&postcount=228 This is so wrong. I think people fail to realize the true devastation this is causing/will be causing for years and years to come.

They won't fucking learn their lesson, they won't put the necessary restrictions in place to prevent this from happening again.
Wah wah, 'NOT THA PAAR BARRDS!!!' we're losing TENS OF THOUSANDS of Oil Everyday, We have a WAR for Oil in the middle-east, Where Hundreds of Soldiers for dieing for our Oil-Hungry nation, and then you just care about birds
Unfortunatly this man is thinking what 70% of the human race is thinking. We're the worst fucking thing to happen to this planet. I mean yea I know we're damn interesting and quite a cool race, very smart etc, but for how intelligent we are, we're really fucking stupid when it comes to living with the rest of the world we live in, nobody gives a fuck, they just want the new Ipod when it comes out and apart from that everything else can go burn in our power plants.
bp stands for bad petrol
Did anyone care this much when they test nukes on islands that could hold thousands of animals?
On another note, lots of British pensions are invested in BP. Are you British? Do you have a parent coming up to retirement age? Expect to be obligated to support them instead of having fun.
Just because we don't eat those certain animals doesn't mean they aren't important in keeping other animals in check, etc.
Animal populations wax and wane, as long as you don't introductnew animals with no predators such as cane toads in Australia then you won't get much of a problem as the population growth will cause starvation and the new found source of food means other predators will swell in numbers too. I fail to see what is so digusting about this accident, sure it shouldn't have happened but we trap fish inside nets and suffocate them before eating them every day, how is this much worse? Besides I'm sure plenty of animals die every day due to landfills or pollution we don't publish, is this just worse because it's visable and so you feel guilty about having to witness it?
If BP gets away with this, I'll... do nothing because I can't do anything against a multi-billion dollar corporation. :/
You can't, but we can ;)
Most untriumphant... pETA piss me off because whenever I let slip I'm a veggie, I get an instant telling off by people because of pETAs pathetic antics. Really I'm just veggie because I like animals and think red meat tastes horrible. People don't care about stuff like this because of bellsniffs like pETA.

I live where this is all happening, and I can tell you it's not as bad as it's made out to be. Obviously, little good came out of it (there were a few new jobs made thanks to this, but it's still mostly bad) but you don't actually see blobs of oil washing up on beaches, and you only see a few more dead animals washed up than normal. It's hurting our tourism more than anything else.
