Yeah but IE is the browser that is the bottom line that other browsers should avoid.

Gif is still better these days as not many browsers support it, and it doesn't really matter what is said to change that. It's like going back in the days and saying transparent PNG's are good, when IE6 couldn't even display them good enough.

I'm not going to use an inferior browser just because it doesn't support APNG. It would be nice though. (I use Chrome not IE by the way.)

I have no reasons to use animated avatars. Plus they can be annoying to look at most of the times. So I'm sticking to this classic avatar I came across in In The News forum.

It's 29.5KB I think. They upped it when we could all have 80x80.
