if you're seriously considering this you should seriously pursue sponsering for release events and tournaments from actual companies.
the one I used to go to got shut down
probably because of all the 12 year olds smoking cigs
Where do you live? I'll come help you manage it.
I have an advertising slogan to. Goes along the lines of-
Love gaming?
Friends don't have a computer, but want to have a LAN party?
Then host it at [buisness name here] and you and all of your friends could enjoy gaming together for super low prices!!!!!
you sound like a typical kid who's got an idea into his head whilst playing with crayons.
REAL LIFE ISN'T AS EASY AS YOU THINK.
before you can even start something like this, you need to be 18, obviously, but even THAT is way too young to start a business.
If you're gonna be building a new building for your cafe thing you need planning permission about a year in advance, you need a business plan, you need loans, you need backing, you need people who support you, you need so much shit dude. Think about starting a business when you have hair on your balls is what I say.

Then what will we watch that day? Maybe a two day event and who ever shows up can watch the super bowl while playing videogames

Did you forget the part where this place would have nice TVs, food, and drinks? It sounds better to be there than at home. I can see sponsors playing a huge role in the company. But I would practically live there.
Also, The facepunch password should be:
Oh fuck, Oh fuck, we're gonna be poor.
It's not a profitable business, a friend ended up creating one and he can barely pay for the fucking building rental.
also have microphones for the computer and mabye host LAN partys Like DOTA, Cod4 , Redalert 3 You know stuff like that, also charge people that bring thier laptops mabye 80 $ for the Night? Xbox live would be killer too

Prove it
I'll let people bring in there own computers for like $15 ~20 a day maybe for 6 hours.
DYOP-Bring Your Own PC

Uh huh.
I like this general idea.
Prove it
Well I'm pretty sure in this day and age, everyone and their mother has an internet connection. Even if they don't have a PC, they have an iPhone or some type of mobile device.
As for gamers, anyone who is actually serious about gaming has a console or a PC already, sure, you'll have some casuals come in once in a while and a LAN Party or two, but other than that, you're not looking at enough money to cover your loans/rent/upkeep costs.
There's your proof, it's called logic, prick.

I said proof, not your opinion.
, prick.
I think the idea would work because most of the people in my school dont have computers to play l4d and all that stuff, then alot of the kids who play cod:waw and stuff would be into the tournaments and stuff.
Yeah, that would go over VERY well at my school, Call of Duty is one of the tickets to popularity. Probably be a hit with underclassmen, not sure about older. But thats still about 500 people who would go there.
Location is key. You don't want to operate in a place like Beverly Hills where every kid will have 3 computers, But you also dont want to operate in compton where every porch monkey is gonna try and steal all your mice/controllers. Picking a neighborhood where lots of kids would want to play games on a PC where they couldnt otherwise play, could make or break you.
I know just the place. I live in just the right place for that. Some kids have nice computers but the majority dont have the money to own high end computers. Or to buy 4 controllers for a single system.
Idea:
Hire a software dev to set up a sytem of points and a big LED leaderboard. (If I was close I'd do this for you for a tiny fee. but I fear I am miiiles away)
Basically; You earn points by playing, earning achievements (Might be easier to do this buy hand?) and buying so many drinks :v:
Have barcoded member cards (To track drinks purchases etc.) and member logins and such on a windows network, Such member system would also solve your age rating problem and allow you to ban people very easily and manage peoples paid-for time. Have a barcode reader on each PC and BAM easy login
Points should be able to be exchanged for:
Drinks (LOTS of points)
Certificate
A Gold Member card
BAM, you have your hook ;)
(This assuming you can program or get a friend to program it all for you, easy to do tbh) These are the sort of things that get people coming back, Silly points systems, upgrades etc. People will strive to be on that LED leader board.

I live in indiana. I also am going to have a minor in computer programming. Also I'm diggin' the idea of the points system and gold membership.

Ah. I'm in NC.

That members idea sounds great.
I'd love to do this in my area but I'm not going to college and don't know where the fuck I'd get the money to invest.
Hey maybe you could stop by for a a bit and I could give you a discount if you say the password.
You can either be a cunt, or you make the wiser choice and take what I said into consideration.

Or, you can get the fuck out.
I'll sell snacks and other items too, energy drinks, chips, ect. Then when it(if) it becomes succesful I'll add a grill and a fryer and serve real food.

Okay, enjoy your failure of a busine-Oh wait, you're probably like fourteen that thought this was a brilliant idea. Disregard.

That would actually be something I'd start out with I think...you could make a real business with the food, that could be a main source of profit. However, I would NOT let anybody touch my shit with their greasy ass hands.
Okay, enjoy your failure of a busine-Oh wait, you're probably like fourteen that thought this was a brilliant idea. Disregard.
Actually, I'm 16 (and 1/2 omg), and I'm not the one who was thinking about it.
go away and stop ruining the enthusiasm. Also im almost 18 and could totally do this. Tho I do plan on going to college first I just wanted to make sure I recorded all of this and made sure I knew what I'm going to get into. I realize it may fail but I'll still have the pride to say that I at least tried and followed my dream!

The buisness WILL fail if you take the obvious angle at it with no hook. (IE. A Place to play games for a nominal fee :downs:)
It needs to be more than that and have a reason for people to return.
It's a VERY hard buisness model to make work but if you understand where your key profit margins are to be made, exploit them (With a clever device to get people to return..) and it will fall into place. You need to think worst case scenario "Ok I have a kick ass PC, Xbox 360 PS3 and a billion games why should I go to <x>"...
In other words: Don't be such a pessimistic sod :v:
Thats why I'm gona try the points program. Nothing brings people back like the feeling that they are going to rewarded for their loyalty.
All the gaming places in my area ran out of business. Everyone plays at home now.
Same here, we had this great one, but then it closed down and moved to the city. Damn cities, offering more business.
