I get utter shit speeds from here, 120KB/s on a 24mbit connection..

Stage6 was definitely much better. :(
It's a BETA.
Man, be thankful they are working their asses off.
It's a fucking BETA.
MAn, be thankful they are working their asses off.
So because it's a beta it means their hosting is slow?
So because it's a beta it means their hosting is slow?
Yes. they still have problems with the database.
They are fixing it and turning it off sometimes.
When it goes up again, it takes a while to recach.
That makes both, upload and download slow.

You don't download files from a database.. not unless the website is retarded, that is. Storing huge videos in a database is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Tell that to Youtube.
Tell that to Youtube.
Youtube doesn't store files in a database either..
Youtube doesn't store files in a database either..
I'm fairly certain they do. Why is it stupid?
Youtube doesn't store files in a database either..
Yes it does.
In fact, any decent video site uses a database.
Depending on the site it may not actually store the videos a database but it definitely uses a database to point to the locations of the videos regardless.

Explain your logic.

Of course you USE a database, it would be stupid not to. What I'm saying is it's stupid to store 600MB+ files in a database(MySQL for example) as in my experience it is slower than not.
So because it's a beta it means their hosting is slow?
They currently just have uploading servers in America.
The download servers (limelight) is pretty much all over the world though.
You should go to their forum and read their news posts to understand things better.
And bug reports.
Looks like it's going to be another shit site just like Stage6 where morons actually upload movies from the 1940s as if they actually watch it. It's probably not going to have much modern movies, ill tell you that. If anything it'll be good for anime.
I keep getting "The file is not a Divx file" errors.

First: Movies from 1940s are awesome and I am happy to have a place that enables me to watch them, you hardly get such stuff elsewhere.
Second: The content that the users upload does not make the site shit.
That's like saying traffic lights are shit because the cars that cross them are old and broken.
Third: It still is illegal to upload modern movies to sites like these, you can be happy to find ANY. Also go into the cinema. Or are you that cheap?
Edit:
I keep getting "The file is not a Divx file" errors.
Refresh the site and try again, sometimes it takes me up to 6 refreshs to get a running video.

Ah... that's sorted then, we both knew the same thing but were on different wavelengths.
Peace :downs:
It's asking me for plug-ins and I already have the Divx web player. On a related note, why is Firefox so fucking terrible at recognizing plug-ins?
Edit: Fuck, I just had to restart FF. Crap post.
Holy shit I found Tron!

The videos won't load for me. Either it says that the download timed out or that the downloaded video file isn't a divx file...

Yea, it's buggy.
Refresh the site and hope for the best.
cool iliek this
Did you guys check it out lately? It became just like Stage6 used to be.
It has shitloads of movies, cartoons and other stuff now, the servers are fast as hell.
I've been watching 7 episodes of Dexter without problems, the buffering took like 5 seconds.
Also all the adds are gone now that I'm using ABP.

Try Madagascar 2 for example: http://beta.vreel.net/watch_27347.html
