BATS - Red in Tooth & Claw
Genre: Science-charged punk-metal?
Sample: http://bats.bandcamp.com/track/gamma-ray-burst-second-date
I don't really know what to think of these guys. Catchy
as fuck I guess.

Dead Dragon Mountain
Genre: Psychedelic, Drone, Doom
Sample: http://deaddragonmountain.bandcamp.com/track/the-sky-is-glass
These guys are weird. They do all kinds of
psychedelic stuff and it all ranges from kinda odd
to downright scary. The sample I linked is probably
one of my favorite sons from them. 12:21 is also
a good, and reasonably easy listen too. They're writing
new material too.

Mania/Drought - Mania/Drought split ($1)
Genre: Black Metal/Doom Metal (Mania) Drone/Doom Metal (Drought)
Sample: http://eternalwarfare.bandcamp.com/track/liquid-chains
Mania's half sounds like more Doom oriented Cascadian Black Metal. Drought's half is Drone/Doom much like early Earth. Both are really good.

Check out their album from last year "The Sleep of Reason". It is probably one of the most addictive albums I have ever heard. They are masters of the fun catchy heavy song.

Buried Sleeper - Colloseum
Genre: doom/stoner metal
Sample: http://buriedsleeper.bandcamp.com/track/manticore
The only release so far from this band, and it's pretty darn good. Very fuzzy and doomy sound. I'm actually getting a serious Alice in Chains vibe from some of the songs as well.
It's also a free download for a limited time, so now's a good time to grab it and spread it around if you like it.

Trilobite - Delusions of Grandeur
Genre: instrumental sludge, post metal
Sample: http://trilobite.bandcamp.com/track/australis
A must listen if you like sludge. It hits a great balance as it is very agressive, heavy hitting sludge but also has a more melodic, atmospheric side to it. I'd like to point out the impressive drumming, it stands out in a good way and isn't put in a background role, drowned by a wall of sound like it so often happens in metal.
[t]http://f0.bcbits.com/z/26/67/2667381-1.jpg[/t]
Outer Gods - Anno Metuo
Genre: Doom, Drone
Sample: http://outergods.bandcamp.com/track/beyond-lowly-repentance
I've posted these guys before but they put out a
new album in January and it is, like all their other
music, dark as hell and super drone-y. It's great,
like the near perfect music to try to sleep to. :v:
I might buy a cassette from these guys simply to
give them money.

Remotely - Lordran
Genre: Dark Ambient, Doom
Sample: http://remotely.bandcamp.com/track/link-the-fire
This guy is back again with some more music
that still sounds like it's straight out of Dark Souls,
and I can only imagine it is with song names like
"Link the Fire", "Gwyndolin" and "Praise the Sun". :v:

Short but sweet instrumental Hip Hop influenced by the sounds of 90s Hip Hop. Very chilled out music and definitely worth its asking price.

Dumbfoundead - Old Boy Jon
a sick rap album, probably one of the best rap releases that will come out this year

Bell Witch - Longing
Genre: Funeral Doom
Sample: http://bellwitch.bandcamp.com/track/longing-the-river-of-ash
I find it kinda hard to talk about this album.
Maybe because it's late and way past my bedtime,
and this album is to blame, or maybe because I just
like it so damn much and find it hard to put my finger
on why. Either way, it's an amazing listen if
you're into Doom stuff and even if you're not it's a
fairly easy listen in comparison to many other groups
in the genre. The vocalist does a great job of doing
this slow, almost Gregorian chanting that, paired with
how slow the music is in the first place, makes this
the perfect music to sit in a dark church with. Or a
mausoleum.
E: Oh, I also sent an email to Remotely to let him know the new album is awesome and to ask about if he knew about Dark Souls, and he totally does.

I went to his show in Seattle at this xclusive place called The Black Lodge and I decided to get stoned with a buddy of mine before it. I always get freaked out about my ears and them getting damaged by loud sounds when I'm high so when the opener started and it was just being loud for the sake of loud we left and went to Game Works instead.

metsu - as the earth drinks
Genre: Post-Metal

Cool post-metal album. It has a little something of
everything I like in post-metal, with some surprises
thrown in (like the beginning of the sample track).

Genre: Noise, Blackgaze, Shoegaze, Drone, Noise-Rock, Spoken Word, Post-Punkish, Dramatic Sad Music

No Youth is a violently scared sounding album. It's very, very noisey and very tormented. It's a vocalist with a sampler and a drummer but No Youth is an incredibly dense sounding album.

An amazing band out of Chicago. Discovered them sometime when they first released the album. Saw it on the front page, thought the art was interesting, and I was hooked from there. There isn't a song on the album that I don't like.

I forgot to mention that I listened to this and thought it was really rad. Thanks for the recommendation. I am hopefully gonna see them this week.

I literally cannot get enough of these guys. All of
their albums are amazing and it's some of most
emotionally packed musics I've ever heard. I feel
really lame saying something like that but just the
way the vocals flow perfectly with the instrumentals
is so damn perfect. I love how much they keep the
vocals inside the music as oppose to on top,
if that makes any sense. You should listen to shit shit.
Also, Take_Opal, I ordered Plains of the Purple Buffalo from *shelsmusic as soon as they announced their second pressing. :v:

I don't know if this has been posted in this thread before
or what, but I've seen these guys before and I don't know
what didn't take about them before but now I'm diggin' them.
Crows Feet is another awesome song of the album but it's not
really representative of the rest of their music. It's all
short, angry bursts of loud, angry yelling occasionally rolled
back for some quick, mellow cool down. I also love the
album cover and made it my avatar. :v:
Also, need more people posting in this thread besides me.

This has to be the most relaxing music I've ever heard, it's really sad that he stopped making music, his last album was released in early 2011.
The music is more ambient than chip-tune like, the are mostly no vocals, sometimes he adds background vocals.
If you like Ambient music, you should definitely listen to this, it really lightens the mood.
