Ah yes, one of the best examples of movie's that are killed by their terrible ending.
I thought the ending wasn't too bad compared to a lot of other movies. I will say that S. Darko was terrible though.
There Will Be Blood, I was stunned at Daniel Day-Lewis' performance in that film. He really deserved the Oscar for that.
I'd never really seen a Day-Lewis movie, but I recently saw "The Crucible" movie adaptation and he starred in it. Anyone who can make a movie that I watched in school interesting is a good actor in my book.
Ghostbusters and Scarface
Here, this might help. http://www.imdb.com/chart/top
Useful, yes, but only to a point. Half of the people on imdb are retarded. Also, surprised this isn't on that list.
There Will Be Blood, I was stunned at Daniel Day-Lewis' performance in that film. He really deserved the Oscar for that.
I thought it was cheated out of Best Picture. No Country is not one of the Coens' best.
Amores Perros(Pulp Fiction style done in Mexico) Sunset Boulevard(Best movie about movies imo) Lola Rennt(Run Lola Run, awesome in a lot of ways) Double Indemnity(my favorite film noir) City Lights(yeah it's old, it still kicks ass) Duck Soup(Marx bros at their best) Secrets & Lies(interesting family drama) City of God(must see)
The Big Lebowski was. [editline]07:50PM[/editline] Also Children of Men.
The Green Mile. Do it. Awesome movie.
OP should probably be thinking about getting a Netflix account. I have one, I love it.
Alien and Aliens :smug:
Anyone mention Leon (The Professional)? Gary Oldman is great in that.
The Big Lebowski was.
Yesss. Also, The Wrestler. It was better than anything nominated for Best Picture last year.
I would recommend No Country For Old Men if it weren't for the horrible ending if you want to watch a horrible movie by any chance, pick up The Wicker Man I regret ever watching that
I would recommend No Country For Old Men if it weren't for the horrible ending if you want to watch a horrible movie by any chance, pick up The Wicker Man I regret ever watching that
The new one or the old one?
I would recommend No Country For Old Men if it weren't for the horrible ending
The books ends like it. It's a Cormac McCarthy thing.
Yesss. Also, The Wrestler. It was better than anything nominated for Best Picture last year.
Rourke was cheated out of Best Actor, but then again I never saw Milk.
I thought Slum Dog Millionaire was pretty good too. Bucket list iRobot
I thought Slum Dog Millionaire was pretty good too.
Needed more extremely flash and awesome Indian dance.
The new one or the old one?
new
Rourke was cheated out of Best Actor, but then again I never saw Milk.
I did. Rourke was definitely cheated. Milk was pretty good, but not nearly as good.
Bro, Western musicals are shit compared to this.
I would say Star Trek when it comes out, but to me it was basically Lens Flare: The Movie.
I thought Slum Dog Millionaire was pretty good too.
I thought it was good but I'm starting to hate it because I think it's just about the most overrated movie of all time.
Heat
definitely
Alright, bed for me. Please continue sending these suggestions, happily surprised at how many I've gotten so far. I will update the list tomorrow.
Also watch these movies that star in the critically acclaimed thread: At the movies -discussing film
You haven't seen Terminator 2 yet? Go see it. Now.
You haven't seen Terminator 2 yet? Go see it. Now.
Oh, I put 'The Terminators' meaning all of them. Easy mistake. Okay, NOW bed.
I walked out of Battlefield Earth  I am glad I have burnt it out of my mind.... also I suggest- Watchmen, but I must explain this first... There are only two crowds involved with Watchmen, most fans of the graphic novel like it but some where not satisfied mostly because of the ending. then there is the mainstream crowd who might have read Watchmen or dosnt have and clue what it is, to them it was a boring 3 hour movie that they though was a straight up superhero action movie because of how it was advertised, I might be getting too deep into this so I will just leave it at that.
