Was looking up some stuff from one of my favorite artists when I came across some information on this historical figure I'd heard about once before, the infamous Elizabeth Bathory.

Considered among the most evil women to have ever lived, a old-days female serial killer with claimed the lives of close to 650 young women, who she beat, mutilated, burned, froze, bit the skin off, performed fatal surgery on, and sexually abused.
It is believed that she was obsessed with the idea of using the blood of young women (Especially virgins) to extend her youth and beauty. As a result she is often associated with Vampire Folklore. A common iconic image of Elizabeth Bathory is of her bathing in a tub of her victim's blood.

She was pretty cuckoo. Some of the stories about her are exaterated but the basic story is pretty truthful. Apparently the whole "bathing in virgin blood" bit was made up after the fact. As there were no recordings or reports of it at the time of investigation.
