Bill Gates got rich because he made a massive advancement in new technology. These days there is hardly any new tech to be expanded upon. At least any that one can do in their own home. I mean, sure you can create your own OS, but now that it's been done already, you aren't going to make anything close to Bill. That is why Apple resorts to brainwashing techniques.
