It seems to happen all the time because when you see a number with some meaning, it sticks out more than any random number. In reality, it happens just as much as any other number.
Although statistically unlikely, they have no meaning other than the information they display and are certainly not worth talking about.

Because they're numbers that can be reached easily, 1337 being somewhat of an exception. Regardless there's an infinite amount of other numbers that could pop up in their place so the chances of that particular number being chosen at random are still incredibly slim, and it doesn't really happen that often anyway.

You're making a very faulty assumption that because there's an infinite number of numbers, they're all equally likely to occur. They're not. I'm more likely to see a thread with 42 replies than a thread with two million replies.
