• Why pointing out significant numbers is stupid

I think TH89 missed the Gold Member's forum.
But the chances of a number being anything but 69 or 1337 or 42 is much higher than it actually being the number.
hi th89 its
But the chances of a number being anything but 69 or 1337 or 42 is pretty slim compared to it actually being the number.
Then why does it happen all the time?
Then why does it happen all the time?
It seems to happen all the time because when you see a number with some meaning, it sticks out more than any random number. In reality, it happens just as much as any other number. Although statistically unlikely, they have no meaning other than the information they display and are certainly not worth talking about.
Then why does it happen all the time?
Because they're numbers that can be reached easily, 1337 being somewhat of an exception. Regardless there's an infinite amount of other numbers that could pop up in their place so the chances of that particular number being chosen at random are still incredibly slim, and it doesn't really happen that often anyway. 1337 and 69 are pretty gay though, 42 is the only c00l cat in the group.
My brother is playing warcraft and he's like "durr i hit this guy for 666 damage" "durr i hit this guy for 1337 damage" "durr i just hit my dick for 69 mm derrrrr"

They're not. I'm more likely to see a thread with 42 replies than a thread with two million replies.

The most common number in nature is 1.
