I read the thread title as pointing out significant others. I was very confused reading the OP.
Lol 62!
I looked at my clock and it was 1234
Whenever I look at the clock I see 4:04.
My post count was 1337 a few days ago.
30.000 posts. What the shit.
but my post count is almost significant!
2,222.
Every time I look at a clock, I see the time.
It's still funny to find 42 1337, and so on. Not that it really means anything, but it's fun nonetheless.

Imma stealin' yer post number!
13 is the magic number for it is the age when a boy becomes a man, and also <1 is also the magic number for it is when the rabbi cuts some of your penis off.
All numbers are significant in some way. Liking 1337 or 69 because of their "meaning" is dumb. Pointing out numbers that are prime is more reasonable.
No one in my class know what a 69 is :(
That's just sad.
-snip-
Nevermind
There is no such thing as a significant number. All of the "unsignificant" numbers would have to have a highest and lowest number, thus making those two significant numbers. Then they would have a new highest and lowest, and so on.
If there is only one number left, then it is significant because it is the only unsignificant number.

Why is cultural value less reasonable than mathematical?
What was the point of letting us know that pointing out 1337 and 69 arent funny anymore?
oh wait
When I check the time in the evening it's quite often 9:11 on my clock, therefore I'm a terrorist.
When you go on the internet, for any topic, you'll find thousands of racist jokes.
These are just jokes,
and even on FP you'll find hundreds, they aren't rare and no one ever takes them seriously.
The chances of seeing a racist joke in a place filled with puns and jokes are extremely high.
So, stop banning people for 1 liners I guess.
Can someone explain to me these significant numbers?
I have an addiction to getting license plate numbers to 666, yea i know
Why is cultural value less reasonable than mathematical?
The cultural meaning behind numbers like 69 and 1337 don't really mean anything at all in the first place. 69 is the name of a sex position, and 1337 looks like "leet", the fact that those numbers showed up wouldn't have anything to do with sex or eliteness most of the time. It might just be because I like maths but pointing out mathematical significance makes more sense.
Not saying people should point out primes and stuff, just that I find it less annoying than pointing out numbers that barely have any relevance to anything.

One could argue that they mean a whole lot more as cultural symbols than as mathematical ones. As mathematical symbols they're stripped of every bit of extra information and the only thing that remains is their exact definition. As cultural symbols they retain their thousands of years of history and everything they're associated with. The position is called 69 because of the very complex events that led to 6 and 9 resembling each other, except upside down. Math wouldn't care if the symbols looked like baboons and rainbows.
would the same go towards people who misread titles
omg i read title as something sexual or shocking
