Jesus is supposed to have made some miracles using god's powers, and in my analogy moonlight is supposed to cure cancer. People (sometimes) claim that Jesus' powers is definite proof of god's existence, and I'm still awaiting the proof of that Jesus had these powers, the same way that I'm awaiting the cure of cancer from moonlight. You could use judgement day as well, and that'll be proof of god as well. Most christians expect heaven or hell as well, that's some kind of a result. I also don't question the powers of moonlight, but it curing cancer would be proof of it. I don't really see your point.
You should read the short story titled "The very old man with enormous wings". It's short and quite an easy read, and should answer whatever qualms you have.
All of the Christians I've met are annoying, stupid, obnoxious and love to flaunt their beliefs and rub it in peoples faces 24/7.
Most of the atheists I've met are annoying and obnoxious and like to flaunt their lack of belief and rub it in my face. In the end, the group that is the majority will flaunt their beliefs.

In the end, the group that is the majority will flaunt their beliefs.
The only atheists I know don't flaunt, unless you try to flaunt your own. I'm actually good friends with one of them, and we discussed how we would never discuss religion, and just respect each other.
The Christians I have had experience with are all massive judgmental hypocrites.

All of the Christians I've met are annoying, stupid, obnoxious and love to flaunt their beliefs and rub it in peoples faces 24/7.
You see, my anecdotal evidence proves without a doubt all Christians... [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] Super fun option: All my anecdotal evidence proves Atheists...
The only atheists I know don't flaunt, unless you try to flaunt your own. I'm actually good friends with one of them, and we discussed how we would never discuss religion, and just respect each other.
My entire school is essentially atheist, every single friend I have is an atheist, all of which have made attempts at forcing their beliefs on me unprovoked or just simply mocking mine. What I'm saying is, it has nothing to do with the peoples beliefs, in the end the majority will always be the most obnoxious group.
two wrongs don't make a right. just be nice. remember, the minority is always the loudest. most Christians don't talk about faith unless you bring it up. it may be illogical, and people may pick and choose when it comes to religion, but friends don't talk about religion. or politics. as long as it's not hurting anybody there's no need to start shit. Almost all of my friends are christian but I couldn't really care. If they disagreed with same sex marriage or something I would fucking bite their head off, but they don't disagree with it. Most of their decisions are logical and intelligent, they just have one unchangeable aspect of them that defies coherent logic.
Many of my friends are atheists and every so often they try to destroy my faith. Theists aren't the only people who try to shove their beliefs down other people's throats.
only a bigot would disrespect another's belief
That's a very large stereotype, just sharing my opinion. Stop generalizing a group that consists of over 2.1 billion people. That's ignorant and stupid.
Did I generalize? No. Learn to read correctly "All of the Christians I've met" The ones that I HAVE MET, I did not say all Christian people are like this.
Did I generalize? No. Learn to read correctly "All of the Christians I've met"
chances are, christians are about 99% of people you've met tell me it's not a stereotype
Honestly, I saw an image way back when, hard to find a clearer one, but it pretty much illustrates my thoughts (generally) between Christians and elitist (not I said elitist) Atheists: Not to say all Atheist's or Christian's are like this, but why do elitist Atheists feel the need to down every religion? People are happy with their choices, why must overzealous Atheists spend more time downing religion than doing something more worthwhile? Most Christians I know are more about living the way that God wants them to live, not shoving religion down the throat of anything that has a pulse. Atheists who can respect others beliefs: I like you. Atheists who spend their free time trolling internet forums yelling, "GOD DOESN'T EXIST!": I don't like you.
Any Christian who knows about their religion doesn't defend it that way. They would probably bring up the historical evidence that supports Christianity. People don't realize it but unlike most other religions, Christianity is a religion based on history rather than people trying to explain things off the top of their head. Not saying there's anything that's fullproof and proves Christianity, but it's at least better than "you can't prove me wrong"
Almost all major religions bring up at least minor proof, but the fact of the matter is that it's no-where near enough to be considered conclusive. [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline]
only a bigot would disrespect another's belief
If I believed that all of you should have your dicks chopped-off and lit aflame, wouldn't you be offended? I would. There's a line though, most major religions have not broken that line. The above statement obviously has. [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline]
chances are, christians are about 99% of people you've met tell me it's not a stereotype
Great job generalizing yourself.
If I believed that all of you should have your dicks chopped-off and lit aflame, wouldn't you be offended?
No.
Liked the page. Thanks for the link!
Great job generalizing yourself.
i'm an atheist
Because I really don't care what you think or believe, so long as you aren't trying to cause harm to me. [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline] Whoa automerge
let people believe what they want to believe, why is it so hard for people to get that
no because if you don't believe what i believe you are an uneducated idiot [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline] im too smart for all the plebians why dont they just listen to what i say and stop thinking for themselves
now that I'm not trolling or too angry to think straight I'm going to have to say that this is still wrong. The religious people are welcome to waste their lives believing whatever they want.
do you know how it's possible that I have friends who are both atheists and christians that get along fine? because they both don't cram their ideals down each other's throats, and only see each other for who they are.
now that I'm not trolling or too angry to think straight I'm going to have to say that this is still wrong. The religious people are welcome to waste their lives believing whatever they want.
I hate statements like this. How am I wasting my life believing in God?
now that I'm not trolling or too angry to think straight I'm going to have to say that this is still wrong. The religious people are welcome to waste their lives believing whatever they want.
Oh yes that's right, I forget that being Catholic or adhering to the beliefs of any religion means you are devoting your entire life to the institution (which, in the rare cases where that its actually true, usually means devoting your life to charity and good causes) and thus you are wasting all of it
chances are, christians are about 99% of people you've met tell me it's not a stereotype
No, that's definitely false. You say that like everyone's a Christian.
I might be on my way to be a priest still.
do you know how it's possible that I have friends who are both atheists and christians that get along fine? because they both don't cram their ideals down each other's throats, and only see each other for who they are.
This. I'm not afraid to admit, I'm a Christian. However, I don't preach to people, I don't force religion on people. People are able to come to religion on their own, if they ask me what is Christianity about, I'll kindly tell them, I will not, however, picket funerals and hold signs saying, "GOD HATES FAGS!" (something that many Atheists say all Christians do, which is the furthest thing from the truth). Also, Atheists: I don't care to hear why my God isn't real, etc. etc. If I don't shove religion down your throat, I expect you not to shove Atheism down mine.
No, that's definitely false. You say that like everyone's a Christian.
actually that's definitely true look up figures for the average percentage of religion in america i think the official statistic is 78.4% christian now tell me every single christian you met is annoying and obnoxious seriously, it's hilarious how much you're generalizing
