Ritalin, Adderall, Dexedrine, and Concerta are all the same chemical. Methylphenidate. The only difference is brand names, pill sizes, and time-release.
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN METH AND COCAINE IS THAT COCAINE IS ALL NATURAL what the fuck no Ritalin is instant-release racemic (50/50) methylphenidate. Concerta is extended-release methylphenidate. (I believe that it's also racemic, but I can't remember for sure) Adderall is 75% d-amphetamine and 25% l-amphetamine. Dexedrine is d-amphetamine.
Not to mention that amphetamines and methylphenidate act in different ways on the brain.
Methamphetamine isn't a direct amphetamine, I know that. It's still meant to work in very similar ways. That's why people refer to methylphenidate drugs as speed. They're all fucking bad, anyway.
They aren't bad you just have a negative view of them. People refer to many stimulant type drugs as "speed" because the name relates to them, it doesn't mean they're the same drug.

In my opinion(and experience) that's an overstatement, though they're dangerous I wouldn't demonize them in the way you are.
In my opinion (and far more experience) they're way more dangerous than doctors seem to think, hence why people in this generation seem to have so many more problems than the last.
"I drank alcohol and lost my job due to drinking. Alcohol is bad and shouldnt be allowed to be used by anyone and has no possible benefits whatsoever!"
"I drank alcohol and lost my job due to drinking. Alcohol is bad and shouldnt be allowed to be used by anyone and has no possible benefits whatsoever!"
I took methylphenidate and now I'm INSANE.
That shit speeds you up and puts you in this focus world where you can magically learn and absorb boring information in school that nobody want's to learn. Good thing is that grades go up. The stuff makes you feel like shit and strung out. I wouldn't recommend doing it every day. Just take it when you got a big test or need to focus on something important.
Ritalin is a piece of shit drug imo. barely works for me. Dexedrine is where it's at for focusing etc. but thats just me
Honestly you can't stop anybody from doing any drug, whether it's prescribed or not. Like I said before, just be careful.
I took methylphenidate and now I'm INSANE.
Isn't that the truth....
Especially amphetamines like Methylphenidate. It's literally like giving you young child some crystal to smoke.
its not an amphetamine [editline]22nd August 2013[/editline]
Methamphetamine isn't a direct amphetamine, I know that. Its all down to how they are used. [editline]22nd August 2013[/editline]
I took methylphenidate and now I'm INSANE.
huh thats funny because I know countless people who were prescribed it as a kid and are perfectly fine. When you discuss properly about drugs you should avoid bringing personal feelings into it unless you are giving examples of negative effects in order for the discussion to actually be meaningful otherwise people discount everything you say because you are too biased. Its like how noone listens to people who adamantly say weed is bad no matter what while people who tell the good effects and the bad effects are listened to.
I took methylphenidate and now I'm INSANE.
Yes, blame the drugs. Just like everybody else. Did you ever think that your insanity may have been underlying and was bound to show itself at one point or another, drugs or no drugs?
I think he was playing off my alcohol post and being sarcastic guys...
Yes, blame the drugs. Just like everybody else. Did you ever think that your insanity may have been underlying and was bound to show itself at one point or another, drugs or no drugs?
Or entirely possibly he could have had far less severe form of it. I don't think it's debatable that giving stims to little kids is a bad idea. [editline]23rd August 2013[/editline]
I think he was playing off my alcohol post and being sarcastic guys...
I know my friend very well, while I may not agree with everything he said I am vehemently against the idea of wide-spread medicating with stims; dummy drugs that burn you out and leave you complacent with the shit situation you live in because you're fucking high on drugs like honestly, whether or not he had conditions that were underlaying that may have showed themselves eventually, can you argue against the fact that they'd probably take longer to show and be less, er, intense if he hadn't taken the drugs?
There are no such things as bad drugs. Its all down to how they are used.
Fucking wisdom.

The drugs could very well have done nothing to stimulate his "insanity", and he'd have been the same either way.
its not an amphetamine [editline]22nd August 2013[/editline] There are no such things as bad drugs.
This may be a little pedantic, but some drugs are straight-up bad like solvents or PMA. I do lol at the guy saying Ritalin is amphetamine. Ritalin is so much safer and less fun than amp.
I was put on Ritalin when I was pretty young (like 12 I think) but didn't react well to it so I was switched to Adderall. The Adderall worked much better for me and I still use it today. Funny thing, being diagnosed with ADHD and having a current prescription for the meds pretty much allowed me to get a medical marijuana license, the doctor agreed that weed would be a good way to help deal with the side effects of the meds (nausea, loss of appetite, headaches, insomnia, that sort of thing)

Most people find the opposite so I guess I'm just weird.
It's super cliche to ask, but do you know if your bud is sativa or indica dominant?
No idea. I know the difference, but not sure what I get. All I know is that even supposed indica with more CBD still makes me anxious. Then again, my dealer may very well not know what he's talking about.

And I used to be basically addicted to adderoll and vyvanse, and smoked all the time on them. Pretty sure some strains were indica because I'd get pretty couchlocked and stoned without a head high if I wasnt speeding. i never really smoked on the come down though, I would always just tough out the comedown until I slept, and wake and bake aha
Got to agree with a lot of people here. As a kid, I was on Ritalin for quite a while. Gave me bad anxiety, dizziness, extreme loss of appetite, loss of sleep, depression, the list goes on. I've been prescribed a laundry list of other drugs since then but declined to take any of them out of fear after the shit that happened on Ritalin. EDIT: Experienced a lot of the same on Adderall.
