Consciously Getting the effect of DMT without ingesting a drug.
Also, avoid looking into mirrors, tv's, windows, or computers in your dream, psychologically, your chance of a nightmare increases from these as something unexpected may pop out and scare you or your dream can go south very fast.
Thanks I never thought of that... I can already see this happening in my upcoming Lucid Dream. Something popping out of a mirror.
It's proven that effective Lucid Dreaming significantly decreases the likeliness you are to have a nightmare. People who suffer from constant nightmares and Night Terrors are recommended to adapt to LD as a way to sleep better and not get nightmares. Also if you get Lucid Dreaming down, you can dream in your dream.
Also, avoid looking into mirrors, tv's, windows, or computers in your dream, psychologically, your chance of a nightmare increases from these as something unexpected may pop out and scare you or your dream can go south very fast.
That's only true about mirrors. MAYBE windows if they cast a strong reflection, but I doubt it. I looked in a mirror during a lucid dream once and it was a very blurry version of me. Some people in the S&D Megathread have seen gruesome things, others beautiful things. It's like a chance to look in a mirror, but yeah I don't suggest looking in one. The electronics wouldn't work most of the time in a lucid dream so you won't have a problem there. If they DO work (small chance) it's also highly unlikely there will be something "horrible" inside of it. Mirrors, if anything, would be the real thing to worry about.
@orcywoo6 Go to the Dream and Sleep Megathread. There's a huge first post on everything you need to know to get started.
It's awesome, it will just take you some time to get into it, well worth it though.
Pro tip: If you want a little cheat to know if your dream is a dream or not, write something clear like a letter "A" on your hand. When you look at your hand in your sleep, it will show up jumbled and indistinguishable. This has helped me know in my dream that I'm dreaming and I get lucid dreaming down. Also, identities and faces are hard to disntinguish.
Try leaning against a wall. 99/100 times you will fall through it in your dreams. Same with breathing under water.

Not true.
People, me included, have had nightmares from looking into windows and something pops up. Also with TV and Computers, ever since i saw the "screamer" vids on youtube (Where's waldo?), I've had nightmares of something popping out and screaming at high volume through my computer or TV and even if i unplug said appliance, it still scares me in my dream. I've suffered this for a year when i was 12.
Why do I see all these people who can lucid dream, but never hang out at the S&D Megathread? :saddowns:

Wouldn't that have to do with your past though and not every dreamer in general? You've been scared by screamers which pop out at you from your computer ever since you were little. This, I'm guessing, also passed on to your dreams. I was talking about in general though. In general, everyone, amateurs and veterans, have said that mirrors have almost never been a good experience to look into. If you were afraid of closets, then you'd probably have bad experiences with them in your dreams unlike someone like myself would be fine opening one in a lucid dream.
I could be wrong, but by what you said it seems to be something from your childhood that makes computers so scary in your dreams.
I'm scared to lucid dream because I spend a fair amount of time researching ghosts and shit and watching horror movies and reading creepy shit etc, so I'm afraid that if I lucid dream one of those will pop in there and make me have a (not literal) heart attack. I know you're supposed to just hug the shit, but I don't want to hug a decaying corpse with glowing eyes and shit.
I think I've only had a lucid dream once, and it didn't last very long. I projected myself to the top of Mt. Everest and jumped off, and in the middle of the fall, that's when I woke up. :frown:
I dont like it, i get more tired lucid dreaming than i was last night.
That's like asking what's good about the holodeck on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

solid_jake in the S&D Megathread got stuck in a cemetery during his week long lucid dream. A terrifying looking girl (think of the ring) gout out of the ground and started to walk towards jake, screaming. He hugged her and later she helped him kill some thugs that were beating the shit out of him. She represented fear and he conquered that in his dream by hugging the chick.
But I agree, I'd never hug something like that. I'd blow its brains out.
...I can have sex with cyborg nazi chicks? :pervert:

Lucid dreams are liberating,
I love how it feels when you realize that you're aware. It's like a glass wall breaks and now you have control.
I had a lucid dream once. Apparently, I was having sex.

Gosh that gave me goosebumps. But yeah I'd do the ring girl.

Mirror's are fucking creepy but all that other stuff I've encountered in lucid dreams before and nothing bad really happens.
Well, on Nickelodeon iCarley was the only thing playing. That counts as a nightmarish vision I guess.
Whenever I lucid dream I just end up having sex and waking up.
Whenever I lucid I naturally make it something to do with my fetish. But when I was younger and did it unintentionally I would just go around telling everyone that they weren't real and this was all a dream.
You get to play Garry's Mod without the massive loading times that would be caused by all the endless addons you have installed in your brain.

Strangely enough, it sounds like something I would do. For some reason I've never been afraid of any ghost, demon, monster, zombie, pop up, or anything else that has been in one of my lucid dreams.
The only nightmare I've ever had involved a bat with a junk the size of my fist that exploded into millions of flying ants that were cut in half and bored into my eyes and I died.
So, let me just get this straight. In a lucid dream, you can do anything you want, go anywhere you want, just by willing it to be so?
Because that, my friend, is badass :smug:

You have to have a disciplined mind, otherwise your subconscious will start lobbing curve-balls at you.
These are quite fun. I had one a while back. As I was lying in bed, I was really close to dreaming. And I stayed there. Eventually I managed to get his image of me stepping through this portal and suddenly I was dreaming lucidly. I was in my old art classroom back in middleschool. Everyone was working on projects and I was just standing there. I knew this was a dream so I ran up and punched my bitch teacher in the face. I got excited. My first mistake. My next mistake was imagining everyone was evil. So everyone turned around and looked at me seriously with anger and evil in their eyes. I thought "Oh God, FLY" so I flew up got above the school then woke up.
i had a lucid dream where i brought up my subconscious
it looked like me, just sitting in a chair, looking at me with a spotlight over his head
i asked him, how can i become a better man
he said, get a girlfriend
massive success, i am a very happy man now, go do the same thing everyone
"I might even try it."
Yeah, it is that easy!
1. look at yourself in a mirror.
2. Trip out
Apparently it's like a game where you can do anything.

Anything you can imagine.

Dream up...whatever.
This shit happens to me all the time and I don't realize what it is.
Example:
Sometimes I have nightmares such as being kidnapped and shit or my brother and relatives suddenly turning into mass murders. For example, I was at this store, and I was sitting on the side walk. This girl I like comes out. She's staring at me. Her face changes, I look away and I realize. I'm dreaming. I then beat her monster ass and turn her back to normal and make out with her.
I love lucid dreaming.
I've just realized that I have been lucid dreaming all of my life... And I can easily control my dreams if I think about it. But, if you think too hard, you wake up and you'll always regret it.
