I found 1 banana an hour before bed significantly increases my lucid dream chance.
What about 2 bananas?
I guess I do this all the time, I never try to lucid dream, it just starts out that way. I don't have to look for something to tip me off that I'm in a dream, I just go about doing anything I want. For example when I very first start dreaming, I will instantly be in the mindset of " Hey I'm in my dream, what do I want to do?" and everything plays out according to what I think. If anyone has any idea why it's like this it would be a wealth of information as I rarely get nightmares and I've never had sleep paralysis before.
1. look at yourself in a mirror.
2. Trip out
Do NOT do this.
Just DO. NOT. do this. Unless you are ready to be shit your pants terrified and likely wake up in a panic attack, go ahead. Trust me you'll be afraid to sleep for weeks and you'll never look in a mirror again.
I would love to lucid dream, I tried to do it millions of times.
I remember doing a reality check in a dream once. I heard that you cant read in your sleep, so I tried to read a billboard, and I fucking could :Dawkins102:
Fun game: try leaning against a wall in your dreams its so hard.
You have to have a disciplined mind, otherwise your subconscious will start lobbing curve-balls at you.
Fully agreed. It takes time to be able to get an LD, but it takes even more time to be able to control it properly and to be able to conquer the creepy shit that you might encounter thanks to your subconscious.

Been there done that. Was great fun. Imagined a ball in my hand, there it was, then threw it and suddenly pikachu.

That sounds amazing.
Only reason I don't want to try lucid dreaming on purpose is because of Sleep Paralysis. I know this only happens when you attempt the WILD technique, but I still don't want to take any chances. That shit sounds scary.

Really? I don't see myself in mirrors.
Actually, the only time I've ever tripped in a dream is after watching the slenderman videos.
Then a man in a black suit looked over me
:froggonk:
It's hard as hell to actually get and when you finally get a lucid dream, it feels amazing. Having the power to be fully immersed in your own little dream world, that'll do whatever you want it to do...
It's like temporarily being God.
[editline]ANUS[/editline]
I just wish I didn't waste my only ever lucid dream on turning a horse into a coffee mug and then waking up. :sigh:
i dont really get the point either. i mean, i like just being along for the ride when i dream, i feel like if i could control it, i wouldnt know what to do. its more fun to just sit back and watch
I've always wanted to do this :sigh:
Likewise.
Apparently spinning around in a circle can increase the length of a lucid dream.
PS: How do you end a Lucid Dream?

It's not that bad if you're calm and know what's happening to you.
Well at least for me it isn't. I get sleep paralysis a lot and I've never seen like aliens or monsters or shit in my room. I do hear weird noises and stuff.

why
My first lucid dream was fuck scary. shit was k until i looked into a mirror at school and a fuckin monster popped out
Apparently spinning around in a circle can increase the length of a lucid dream.
For me it just makes me wake up. I prefer looking at my hands' details, and rubbing them together. It makes you get more "into" the dream.
Also taking off imaginative "glasses" off your nose helps make the dream clearer. It kinda fucks with your mind in a good way, because if you imagine taking off sunglasses, it obviously makes your view clearer in real life aswell, and your mind makes it do the same in the dream.

Imagine you're on a cliff, then jump off.
why
because think
a dream so real that it feels exactly like real life
you look in the mirror and see yourself but horribly deformed/bloody/eyeless/mangled, or you see a horrific monster that leaps out at you, or you see something behind you reflected in the mirror and FUCK
and remember it feels super real
will you wake up if you have sex?
will you wake up if you have sex?
Yes.
With underwear full of cream too.
Lucid dreaming is shit easy, anyone can do it.
Basically Garry's Mod, but singleplayer and limitless possibilities. Seriously, you can be a singular atom or the entire universe.
It's fun but it gets a bit depressing when you wake up and notice you're restricted by reality if you play around with lucids too much.
Ive never quite understood this, while in an LD, are you in complete control? Like you can willingly imagine you're swimming, or something?
I always wake up before I can do anything in lucid dreams
Because you can do, like, anything
Ive never quite understood this, while in an LD, are you in complete control? Like you can willingly imagine you're swimming, or something?
I guess you can with enough practice and discipline. What usually happens (to me at least) is that even when I´m lucid, the dream environment is still sort of separated from my mind and it´s fighting against my will. It´s really annoying to have to fight your own mind.
I think this is because the logic part of the brain is still usually mostly shut down when one gains lucidity, so even when you realize you´re dreaming, you do not usually fully understand it because of your lack of logic.
whenever I've had a lucid dream it's always by accident, and it always leads to sex.
whenever I've had a lucid dream it's always by accident, and it always leads to sex.
It's strange to say this, but after years of being involved in lucids, dream sex has become pretty boring. I find looking at the sky and simply exploring the dream world more interesting than sex.
The sky is amazing in lucids. I've said this in most lucid-related threads, but damn, once you look at a dream night-sky, you're hooked. Planets, galaxies, everything just floating there in the sky, crystal clear and beautiful, it's something you'll never forget (unless your morning dream recall/memory is shit).
When you see something like this floating in the sky with your own "eyes" (well kinda), you'll know the feeling and why I love to watch skies in dreams.

Now add a few galaxies and more planets and you're set.
The last lucid dream I had:
I was in a multistory car park about 3am (in my dream) then suddenly a mirror appeared in front of me, I looked into it and did that thing that makes your face go bright red...like your suffercating and suddenly my head exploded. I could still run around with no head and everytime I looked into the mirror again all I would see is a blood fountain.
I also have had Lucid dreams about being a soldier, I had a dream about being one of King George's Line men against Napoleon. and being a soldier in WW2. I can vividly remember last standing ontop of a hill with a revolver shooting nazis. :D
some other people should share their dreams too...

One of my previous lucids was short. Before I had gone to sleep, I had set myself a goal. To talk with the Terminator.
So anyways. I was dreaming normally when I suddenly became lucid. I then imagined the terminator behind me, and turned. And there he was. Fucking Schwarzenegger the Terminator with sunglasses and a shotgun in his hand. As I was about to greet him, he raised his gun. I blurted out "no!"
And then he shot me and I woke up from the shock of pellets entering my chest cavity. Terminated my dream :smith:
Any better tips on how to lucid dream?
