My optimistic rail trip around the UK starts today, but will it end? - General

I'd love to do something like this. I've been in a big "adventure" mood lately, and this sounds like exactly the kind of thing I'd like to do. As far as train adventures, however, I'd like to take the Trans-Siberian Railway from London to Tokyo. It's a long trip, but the train takes you to all sorts of wicked-awesome places. That'd be a rockin' adventure, for sure.

I've always wanted to travel to America, and just hike around the entire country. Kinda like "Into the wild". The nature in North America is fascinating, you guys have like every sort of climate there (with the exception of rainforests).

Much more fun to take a car round the Scottish Highlands, namely the Applecross Pass. But if trains are your thing... Good luck, England has some great places if you know where you're going. The majority has been dragged down by the idiots. Shame really.

The year I get more insurance is the year I go on a road trip of western Europe.

So how'd it go? I've always wanted to go to the highlands. Fun fact, where I live is nearly a thousand feet higher than the highest point in all of the British Isles.
