I read the posts after mine in this thread, and apparently evidence for evolution was somehow compared to evidence for supernatural events. I believe someone has a bible up their ass, and I would request its immediate removal.
What makes us us? Everyone I have met personally that doesn't believe in something after death, some form of still being, was a major asshole.
But aside from the people I have met. It always seemed to me the thoughts of life of an Atheist was "Eat-Shit-Die"
The thoughts of any non atheist to me was more like "Eat-Become someone-Make friends-make values-grow old with someone-so on and so on". It's not that I'm trying to put anyone down or anything like that at all,I don't like to do that kind of thing. And just because we believe we don't have a predetermined purpose to life besides that of natural instinct and preservation of the species does not mean we can't have philosophies about life. We evolved to be the most intelligent species on this planet, and with that comes with what I see as a great responsibility. It is our duty to protect all life, maintaining balanced ecosystems and genetic variation.
Also, knowing that this is the only life I have makes it even more valuable.

I have a strong interest in cryptozoology and the paranormal, but don't believe in most of it. Well, I do believe in UFOs/ETs, but it doesn't in any way conflict with my religious beliefs.

Here's a fact. When you die all the oxygen in your brain leaves, which means it doesn't work. The person's mind, personality, and feelings are gone. Also unless you're talking about the music genre, a soul isn't a real, physical thing.

I guess what I mean Is that I believe someones mind and spirit lives on after death, until we become another human,(With no memories of the previous life whatsoever) But again, that's just me and that single belief.
