I sorta like that SPR AK because to me it doesn't look like an AK trying to be an M4. I feel like with less rails it could be the base for some kind of FUTURE AK thing.

Looks like a slightly modified synthetic 74 handguard to me; Russian synthetics don't have vent holes but those handguard grills seemed to be based off it
