I remember when I was first into airsoft I was swayed by all the tacticoolity in the pictures of airsoft megastore so I took an SR-25 and put on a scope, red dot, vertical grip, grip-bipod, laser, flashlight, MOE handguard and stock, and a dual mag. I've sold half that shit since.

As for the magazines, maybe if it was made for a smaller caliber, the mags could be thinner and much more manageable

I would say redesign the mags to straight mags (kinda like pp2000 spare mags), make the stock retain a similar shape but fold on top of the rifle instead, and have a normal pistol grip

why is that necessary what problem does a mag like that solve??

Use it as boomerangs when out of ammo ofc

I'm actually just fine with that donut gun. Mags aren't nearly as big of a deal as they seem, as they appear to only be slightly taller and a bit wider than an AK-47 mag. From what I can see in the pictures, it also looks like it has about 50 rounds of ammo, which is excellent since that mag isn't getting in the way at all. You'd be totally free to go prone or anything you'd want to do with a standard gun with standard magazine.
