It's basically right on the money. The original AR stock was designed to be collapsible because it couldn't fold thanks to the buffer tube. The people pointing out that it has adjustable LOP don't know their history, because additional positions besides fully retracted and fully extended are relatively new additions, it was never the original purpose of the design. If you really want an easily adjusted LOP, find something like an LR-300 stock that both folds and collapses. But sticking AR stocks on everything is impractical at best, a downgrade at worst, and either way symptomatic of the fashion-show tacticoolery that is slowly becoming more and more prevalent.

Similar things exist on real steal AKs. They generally use the rear sight base as an attachment point to help keep it more stable
