So? It is indeed very relevant to the posted picture. I see no problems with that.

Have this completely unrelated picture of russian soldiers eating.

What would be the advantage over other carbines in the same caliber?

You don't really need a rifle cartridge for dealing with prisoners wearing just a thin jumpsuit or maybe they chose 9mm to be compatible with their handgun ammunition
both are just theories

Longer barrel, higher muzzle velocity, better accuracy.
It's like the anti-notrabies mp5a2 extreme edition.

apparently, (according to wikiped)
The HK94/SG-1 (ScharfschutzenGewehr, "sharp-shooting rifle") was designed for short-range sniping in built-up areas like cities or prisons. It proved to be unsuitable for its designed purpose, due to its poor penetration and stopping power, and most went to target shooters and collectors. It had a fixed match stock with a rubber buttpad and an adjustable cheekpiece, folding bipod, flash hider, and a 6 x 42mm Leupold VIII Adjustable Objective scope. It had an overall length of 40.39 inches [1026mm] and a weight of 9.25 lbs. [4.2 kg]. Its Mean Standard Retail Price (MSRP) in 1986 was US$1,525; this was more than twice what a stock HK94A2 (US$650) or HK94A3 (US$720) cost. Only 50 were imported into the United States; authentic models have serial numbers running in the 43XX range.
As an aftermarket modification, a PSG-1 trigger pack with target pistol grip and match trigger could be added by a gunsmith by changing the ejector and hammer spring. The 6x Leupold scope was calibrated for .223 Remington rounds, so other scopes were often substituted.
That sounds really shittily thought out.

I think the real problem here is that your just not enough of a manly Teutonic operator to understand HK's genius.
that article is almost 7 years old
i still think 2007 is 2 years in the future
You can (not) stop

So many conflicting emotions, .......mostly negative ones.
If it wasn't for the retarded 'foregrip' and the horribly fitting abortion of a stock, it wouldn't be too bad, as far as dumb 'steampunk' guns go.
Still doesn't make it anywhere even approaching 'acceptable' though.
The stock almost looks like a Khyber pass special but I think I might be insulting the workmanship of the old dudes in the sandals a little there.
I don't understand why they swapped it out. I know there's a LOT you can question on that peice of shit but i'd still like to know why they swapped out the standard stock for that abomination.
The standard ones don't fit the 'theme' any less than that one does, so i really don't get it.
Theres a good possibility that gun was built from a parts kit, so that stock could have come from any where, or it could have come with it and is just a poorly finished one, the manufacturing tolerances in AK's fluctuate wildly from modern factories (well modern in the 60's) to guy in a shed with a drill press.

Wouldn't a Khyber Pass have a triangle folder?
The loverly chaps of the Khyber pass are quite capable of bashing together any type of stock you want, and they do.
I know, you just said Khyber Pass special, which almost always refers to an AKM or 47 with a 74 folding stock.
Khyber pass special is a generic term for anything that comes out of the Khyber pass, it doesn't refer to any specific design.
is that a candle holder fitted as a flash hider
Naw man it's a barrel plug.
In absolutely unnecessary airsoft accessory news:

Why? A sunshade for a T1 seems pretty much pointless.
I'd dig it if it had a build in killflash or something, looks kinda funky.
Lill mini Susat..
