Nah, I'm just picky.
More people need to play bass/keyboards. I swear everyone I know only plays guitar.
Tell me about it, at college I study music and I can literally count 18 guitarists, I am 1 of 3 bassists, only one of the other 2 is any good. there's 2 keyboard players and ONE flute player.
The diversity of music styles is nil.
Most of them listen to metal, depressing.
People should play whatever they want to play. Not because they feel an obligation to diversify instrument players. 50% of those who play guitar suck balls anyway.
No one else listens to the same sort of music as me in my area. The few musicians I know just started a deathcore band. I hate deathcore.

At least they have good music taste.
Unless by metal you mean Bullet for my Valentine and such. :yarr:
I've been considering for a very long time picking up the bass. Guitar would be cool, it'd be nice to chug out some nice riffs, but I think bass is my calling.
Not to mention I've had dreams of forming an experimental band with two basses, one who plays a traditional bassline, and the other who serves as the lead guitar, running through a Boss ODB-3 pedal.
I mean, listen to this bassline/riff:

I don't know about anyone else, but I personally like that tone, and I think it has a lot of potential in an experimental band.
