It's more like compressed cardboard.
well that would explain why it's so light. I thought the description had basswood listed as the body, but it doesn't. the slightly more expensive version has basswood though.
MDF is consistent in that it's fibres compressed into a board. That bass was like very thin plies of wood compressed into layers. Which is plywood :v:

well that would explain why it's so light.
Why is italicising line6 the trend? :v:
I came up with that on V5 because all the argue about the line 6 It's a rule in guitar discussion now :haw: [editline]28th November 2010[/editline] Guys, what the hell! hey guys, I'm trying to play death metal and need some scales and some tips, if you'd please help me? I know palm mute Harmonics artificial harmonics, and tripplets.
It's the new trend... Everyone is playing a dick :v:
What do they call that? A wangcaster?
This is the wangcaster
Plywood basses are heavy, so his bass can't be made out of it.
I wasn't debating whether dcalde's was or wasn't. The picture posted is of a plywood bass, regardless of what his particular bass is made of. But, if his is the same model then by extension his is plywood too. Also, not all plywood is heavy. Starter Strat's are often plywood and some of them weigh nothing
here's what i got so far, it's not great but meh http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H623SPB8
[img_thumb]http://www.carverdoug.com/1.jpg/wang/wang.7.jpg[/img_thumb] This is the wangcaster
:ohdear:
What do they call that? A wangcaster?
Stratopenis?
Looks nice, is that a natural finish or an actual orange stain finish? Also, when you get it let me know what you think of the P94 pickups.
Me playing it: http://filesmelt.com/dl/IMG_03901.JPG Was meant to get it about Mid-October, but it got sold, so I have to order another one in. The P-94 pickups have a nice crunch to them, very high output. Also mate, your Epiphone Casino looks so nice :D
Don't be hatin' on Dano's, Dano's are kickass
I'll stop hating on Danelectros when people concede Steinbergers are awesome.
steinbergers are awesome
Anybody know a (safe) online place to buy steel fretwire? My heavy gauge strings are starting to wear through my nickel frets :saddowns: May use steel frets on my next guitar so I dont have to replace or level them, ever.
Talk to someone at a local guitar shop, or if someone actually knows what they're doing at Guitar Center, try to ask them.
Looks like Ill be learning electric guitar over bass, id like to start my own music project and it will be odd playing black metal with drum and bass
Guys, how do you break it to someone that they're going to be kicked out of your band? I have to do that tomorrow.
I'm getting my first bass guitar next week, anyone recommend a guide or website to help me out?
Guys, how do you break it to someone that they're going to be kicked out of your band? I have to do that tomorrow.
Pretty much like breaking up with a girl- have their stuff present if you have any of it, and the rest of the band. Say you're no longer working together and the band will be moving on without them, but without mentioning why. Giving reasons why can feel like an attack, which will make them angry, or like there's something they could "fix" to stay in, which would make them try and barter/beg. The last thing you need is for that person to try pushing, if you guys really agreed on it then your word is going to be final and they need to know that. Just keep it simple, one person leading, calm tone, concise statements. You're not in the band anymore, here's your stuff, sorry it didn't work out.

I gotta to give them their bass amp then. Thanks for the info! Did a simple cover tonight, I learned it today too! :c00l: Hopefully we'll get our band to play it as a cover. Yep, i speed up at the solo, but it simmers down.

I'm going to be buying a sanpera foot pedal for my peavey vypyr on wednesday as a kind of christmas present to myself (but we all know it's an excuse to buy some new guitar related stuff). To anyone that has this pedal, do you think the II version is worth the extra money?

that jazzy part from 1.52. Could someone tell me the chords? I just love the sound!
Guys what do you think of this Epiphone? http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/electric_guitars/epiphone/les_paul_black_beauty/index.html I am looking for a new guitar and a friend of mine would sell it to me cheap.
Paying that much for an Epi is weird... Just buy a Gibson? So does anyone here like 7-string guitars? What about eight? I love my seven and thinking of buying an eight.
