well I've never put any effort into learning how to tap Yeah I started trying to learn how to sweep pick about a week ago Oh boy
Comping, sightreading and sweeping. Sweeping I think I'm making headway with. Comping fucks my mind
You get a winner for doing a bit better with sweeping So hard, but it'll be worth it in the end
Said I'd put some pics. My 2 yr ole' friend. It's an Hora 12204-CTW. Sorry for teh pic quality. And the logo  http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4627/sdc10029a.jpg
Nice, that your metal acoustic :smug: Couldn't help it, sorry. How does it play?
Nice, that your metal acoustic :smug: Couldn't help it, sorry. How does it play?
It's great. Action could be lower but it's playable.
Duct tape some EMGs to it. That can't possibly go wrong.
Sweep picking... lol Nah seriously, for me it's doing stuff like tapping. Everything else is easy as hell
I tap roughly the way that I play octaves. Finger down firm on the string you're using, but use the tip to mute the string above it. Muting and a quick tap/release with the right hand are what is most crucial for good-sounding tapping. As for me, my most problematic techniques are string-skipping and sweep picking.
What are the good brands for bass amps? [editline]28th January 2011[/editline]
Said I'd put some pics. My 2 yr ole' friend. It's an Hora 12204-CTW. The Epiphone Les Paul 100 is it worth it when i can't afford a standard? Anyone has/tried one?
Read the reviews yourself and decide: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/electric_guitars/epiphone/les_paul_100/index.html Looks good.

And it is only 22 frets!
And it is only 22 frets!
Something like that needs at least 36 frets.
Hah. I bet you swore a lot for a couple of minutes there.
man i was pissed off you won't believe. but it seems to work right now! just gotta clean up the connections :buddy: and ground everything off, it has a suprising low amount of feedback due to the shielding.
Duct tape some EMGs to it. This is my track off the Facepunch Collaborative CD if people want to hear it.
What is the technique you all stuggle the most with? Just asking out of curiosity.
I have never figured out how slap bass works. Everything else I can do to at least some degree, even if a bit slow, but it'll get better over time obv. Slap is completely beyond me, even having a proper bassist trying to show me how it works.
I'm learning how to play slap guitar, my teacher is showing me how
You just create a piano hammer with your thumb to slap and pull a string (Usually with the index finger) to pop. The action between the two is all in the wrist. A lot of the work is in the fretting hand too though, that tight slap bass sound comes from the percussive sounding muted notes. I do a combination of muting with both hands but I wouldn't be able to explain how, it just evolved. I Pop with my middle finger rather than the usual index finger.
