I was going to do the same thing when I get a new battery for my pedal. But that was pretty good
Should get a wall plug, save more money.

I should.
Did a quick recording of To Live Is To Die of the acoustic parts.

I'm starting to get into Groove Metal abit more, which means constant controlled downpicking at fast-ish levels. Recommendations for exercises?

Lamb of god!
Try 11th hour(the song which I've raped my acoustic with many times) or For Your Malice. Lots of down strokes and also lots of triplets(or gallops).
Here's a video if you're lazy:

You can play log? And the fact that you played it on an acoustic makes it better.
What is the easiest log song? I'm really keen to play some
Just made some hipster picks from a credit card

I had only one rough напильник (don't know how it's in English). Will work on them some more as soon as I get to my other instruments.

Most of their songs are somehow complex(lots of riffs, neck runs). Think the easiest one is Black Label from their first album. The drums are simply amazing(those quadruplets or something sound sick)

Another great song is Vigil(second album)

Log is by far my fav. band. Can't wait for them to get their new album out in 2012.
@Reset Panda Another song with tons of fast down-pick is Metallica's All Nightmare Long.
Black Label is one of their best songs too
11th hour would sound fucking BADASS on a steel string, you should record yourself playing

Indeed, it does sound amazing. I'll record it later. For now, here's All nightmare long - acoustic(sorry for the low q. cheap mic, guitar sounds better IRL).

Kickass
Don't see how that's funny, but I'm cool with being rated a funny

We call them "files." Reminds me, I just tried using a fine file to add a better tip to one of these dozens of tortex picks I've got and don't use because I like sharps, but it came out really imprecise.
Does anybody know of a way you can make it easier to hold a pick while your hand is sweating? I might just put on some mechanic's gloves the next time I play for a prolonged period, but right now ultex and lexan stuff just slides right out of my hand, and I don't want to only use Max Grip picks because they only come in that weird not-nylon nylon crap.
Drill some small holes in your pick perhaps
lol, weird solution, I can imagine it now
"dude, why are there holes in your pick"
"VENTILATION LOL"
Recognize this?

Action is too high to make ho/po but sounds good this way too.
I can't believe you don't have an electric
Man you're going to have so much fun when you get one

I'm so freakin' excited. When I'll get it I'll know tons of songs and rock the living strings out of it.
\\nvm.

You'll love it, I bought my guitar after I'd been playing for about 4 months.
Been saving up for about 4 years to buy it though, and my amp ofc
Here's the other song made in GP5. This time the volume is all right.

And now, beware of the monster I created!

I challenge anyone to play it as it is. This the top of the pyramid for me. When I'll be able to play this, my kufe will be complete and then I can die happy. :smug:
More coming(next days or so).
I like you, you should've got here earlier
[editline]31st January 2011[/editline]
Welcome to the family

Thanks. Now I can start stalking you and then rape you and steal your guitars. My plan is almost complete
@patcher If you can play it you'll be my new guitar hero :P

Lamb of God, as has been suggested, is a great band for learning groove metal.
Also, Machine Head. I'd start with Aesthetics of Hate, if you're comfortable with tuning down to C#-standard (which is actually kinda high tuning for them).
