Turn your dist a bit lower, Mister.
i noticed that after i recorded. I turned it down, and i got a machine gun sound.
i noticed that after i recorded.
I remember when I subconsciously played guitar for nearly 10 hours a day everything I did that required sitting down meant I would have my guitar in my hands even going on the toilet
guitar straps are amazing things
I'm gonna be putting .15s on my 7 once I defret it. Flatwounds are enormous :byodood:
I hope to god you're tuning that at least a full step down then...
Why would I? Got a truss rod for a reason
Why would I? Got a truss rod for a reason
Your local hospital and dermatologist are going to love you with all the finger repair they'll be doing.
Read: "defret" and "flatwounds"
Read: "defret" and "flatwounds"
Unless you're really serious about that no-bending thing I still think it would be hell on your fingers.
Why bother bending when I have no frets?
Why bother bending when I have no frets?
I can't not bend when I play. It's just something I always do, dunno why.
Bigger gauges are an advantage when you're playing fretless. Since the pitch is dependant on accuracy, having strings which you can barely bend help keep the pitch close. And you can still "bend" by just sliding

Not on a fretted instrument it doesn't. Listen to violin vibrato, it's the same concept, it's more like rolling your finger
Not on a fretted instrument it doesn't. Listen to violin vibrato, it's the same concept, it's more like rolling your finger
Like with classical guitar right? I can't do that to save my life :saddowns:
Kinda, but it's most apparent on a fretless instrument because the miniature movements directly affect pitch, rather than it translating to a smaller amount of vibrato thanks to the fret
I got back on the whole "Learning Dream Theater's In The Presence of Enemies Part 1 (The Heretic and Dark Master) and I discovered in the two week absence of learning it I gained the ability to play the super fun shred part that I couldn't play before, not I'm up to the second super fun shred part in the song and this'll take some time. I found out today that if the band I am in wins a battle of the bands contest next month, we get to play a big gig with at least 200 people there. Unfortunately, it happens to be on the same date that I'm seeing an Iron Maiden show. Cause I live on an island I've booked flights to the airport in the city, hotels, ticket and all is done, and I don't get anything back if I cancel it all :smith:

I guess this is the only time you can say you hope you lose, atleast it'll make the descision easier.
Fuuuuuuuuck. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens at the battle of the bands.
Was at my friends house, He played his 6 string fretless and I played my strat. It was so fun playing smoke two joints. :v:
Going to try to get back into the habit of playing for an hour and a half a day again Not going to be easy
I can't not bend when I play. It's just something I always do, dunno why.
I only do it, without meaning to, once I'm confident with something.. Which I suppose is normal :v: [editline]7th February 2011[/editline] Also when I'm playing, as soon as I realise I'm bending notes I stop doing it for a while.. weird.
mokkan you should get awesome and then we can jam together
mokkan you should get awesome and then we can jam together
The free time I have I'm content wasting on this computer... Maybe once mum starts her diploma thing, she'll be studying on the computer three hours a night, so something will have to fill that time
Learn AC/DC songs Then I can be Angus Young with my SG
You guys all talk about playin everyday while I didn't play my prs for a week (with a break of 2 weeks before that) :saddowns: It started to get me psycho all like "Uhg guh I need to play my guitar or else I wasted my money on something I don't use" and that's the reason I just take a break from everything :smith:
Learn AC/DC songs
I'm thinking I learned the chorus chords for You Shook Me All Night Long.. and I learnt the intro to Thunderstruck... Which was a fucking bitch...
No I took a huge break recently Couldn't be fucked. Picking it up again starting tonight though. Playing for half an hour after dinner, another 1/2 hour later and then one more [editline]7th February 2011[/editline]
I'm thinking I learned the chorus chords for You Shook Me All Night Long.. and I learnt the intro to Thunderstruck...
