yeah but this is a want that I won't actually fulfill

Well you never know! How much would it cost?

So you mean like me and my dream of owning a Mesa Triple Rectifier?
My GAS has shifted to a Fender Twin and a kickass dist pedal.
Or a Mesa Mark after recording with my guitarist's Mark V

Still Triple Rec for me. And I'd like an ESP EX 7-string. Unfortunately, I think that would have to be a custom shop job, and dear lord I do not have that kind of money for a guitar...or at all, for that matter.
ESP Custom Shop is an absolute joke unless you get an endorsement. You could get 2 hand made luthier customs for the average price of an ESP Custom

I once did that auto-quote thing, and it wanted $7500 for specs you'd find on a $900 guitar from them.

Actually I live like a 3 minute drive from a luthier.
I just don't like the shape of any of his guitars (don't want a Les Paul, Strat, or Tele copy).
I really like the normal Explorer's shape but I refuse to give Gibson my money. For one, because I'm very unhappy with them and their price-gouging well beyond reasonable levels, for another because they refuse to make a guitar with more than exactly 22 frets, and last because their quality control has gone down the tubes, so perhaps their inspector standards have as well.

Probably has some of the best action in the world, but for nothing special that is absolutely pointless yes.
No offense, but past £3000 from a company, you're paying for the prestige.
There are countless luthiers who would happily accept your money and design a guitar with you to your perfect specs for about 1/3 of ESP's asking price. Hell give me a year or two and I'll do it for you!
There aren't really any Luthiers in British Columbia that I know of, or could find, aside from one that does acoustics.
Aside form my dad and I. Well, we'll see how things go, and maybe we'll sell some guitars. Who knows
It would be kind of cool to go, "That's my ESP customshop." though.
Pretty much. Surely there's more value in saying "this is the guitar I designed from the ground up with one guy working on it from start to finish"? Or better yet, BE that one guy.
I know there's a luthier's school on Vancouver Island so i'd assume there are a few over that way, but as to where British Columbia is compared to it, I have no idea :v:

A luthier school eh? I am interested...
It's $36,000 for a year :v:

I am much less interested...
I feel like in order to become a better guitarist, I need to start writing music, but the problem is I don't know where to start. Any suggestions?

Seems like the only way I'd ever get it done, considering all we have around here are hicks who attatch cheapo premade necks to pot leaf shapes they cut in their basement.

Where do you live...?
ahahah this dude wants to drive to my house to buy the Carvin...that's....a little odd, seeing as shipping to his place would cost less than over 100 bucks in gas....RAPIST!

Agree to meet him halfway, go armed and/or with friends. Who would also hopefully be armed.
Obviously only if he's REALLY serious about wanting to physically see/play the guitar (assuming that's why he's insisting).

I'm a pretty big guy, i'm not worried about him... I'm just not planning on driving 3 hours half way.

I started with a song in the Facepunch Worst's Song competition.

From there I moved on to school projects and songs that made fun of stuff. Writing decent generic sounding music really isn't that hard.
My biggest piece of advice is to practice a lot of improvisation. Be able to improvise entire songs. Make riffs and melodies and make gradual shifts into different riffs and melodies. Get guitar pro and start composing stuff. Quality isn't important, quantity is. Once you start getting a good grip on making songs rather easy, you just have to start filtering out the good ideas from the bad.

Oh wow yeah fuck that nevermind.

Wisconsin. As far as I can tell we've got some good techies but nobody great at making stuff from scratch.

I didn't know Wisconsin was riddled with hicks >.>
Your options for folks who advertise an ability to work with wood tend to be hicks, yeah. Dem city folks don't know a band saw from broadband, and nobody makes a proper business of music here beyond a few retailers.
