Want so bad [editline]12th February 2011[/editline] Played one before Oh lawd so good
Why do you think i'm selling my carvin :) Selling the carvin and getting the ESP Horizon and popping some bareknuckles in that slut. [editline]11th February 2011[/editline]
I wonder how an ESP/LTD Deluxe Horizon compares to a ESP Standard Horizon. I wish my music stores had more ESP standards D:
The LTD's are great guitars, but they don't match up to ESP's.

I kinda regret buying an Agile Interceptor for $700 and then spending another $750 on software now when I realize that wouldn't have been that far off from a Viper 7 or Horizon.
New amp day :D

What I would like one day is a PRS, damn you SolidSnake52!
I want a horizon so bad I want a guitar that is built for metal, going to buy a mid tier ibanez shredder soon, maybe [editline]12th February 2011[/editline] I want it to be bright orange, or green or some shit like this, ugh! bring it back the other way! [sp]Couldn't help quoting rage there[/sp] Don't really want a lame black guitar like everyone has, which sucks as black is my favourite colour
Ignore what everyone else has You won't be happy unless you get a guitar that YOU want
Black isn't a colour :downs:
^ Fuck you, I don't care if it's a contrast I call it a colour [editline]12th February 2011[/editline]
Ignore what everyone else has You won't be happy unless you get a guitar that YOU want
I'd prefer a bright coloured one Anyway I don't really give a fuck whatever anyone else thinks anyway, they're not going to be seeing it unless they come to my house
No, he's right it's a color. :downs:
I live in a different country to you I spell words differently, and pronounce them differently Deal with it

Not liking the things on the side Get rid of those and the thing on the headstock and I'd buy it, the red in the Ibanez logo
Black isn't a colour :downs:
You're right, it's the absence of colour
I've fully learned the Em, D, G and C chords but they don't sound right when I strum them.. Is it possible I haven't correctly tuned the guitar?
I've fully learned the Em, D, G and C chords but they don't sound right when I strum them.. Is it possible I haven't correctly tuned the guitar?
Yes, it is fully possible It's EADGBE, from thickest to thinnest To you have a tuner?
Yes, it is fully possible It's EADGBE, from thickest to thinnest To you have a tuner?
No, I'm tuning from an iPhone app
Well what is the problem Do they sound off, like is it a buzz or do they just sound bad You're either not fretting hard enough, or cleanly, or your guitar may not be in tune Those are the reasonable explanations [editline]12th February 2011[/editline]
You're right, it's the absence of colour
Forget it, main thing is black is awesome
my B string sounds in tone with the guitars in the youtube videos i'm learning from, but it's buzzing when I pluck it. Same with my G string. And I think my E string is out of tune in general. I could try recording the sound all the strings make?
That's going a little far
http://soundcloud.com/ensudragon/guitarstrings/s-yT92Y loud vibrate-y noise is the buzzing [editline]12th February 2011[/editline]
I think scales are a bit over the top at the beginning. I would recommend that you learn chords instead. If you can play all Minor and Major chords, you can theoretically play 99 % of all music. If you don't want to bother with that just yet, look up Power Chords instead. I would prioritize these chords (loosely): 1) D - G - C - Am - E - Em (Fundamental tier) 2) A - Dm - A7 - D7 - E7 - G7 (Spicing-it-up tier, the 7-chords are optional, but they are fun and easy!) 3) F - Fm - F# - C#m - C7 (Barre tier) 4) Csus4 - C/B - D/F# - Em7 - Dm7 (Secret tier) 5) By now any remaining chords should be a breeze. Google your favourite songs + chords! Play along! Also since you have an electric guitar, you are probably eager to start riffing away ROCK N ROLL STYLE. You can start doing this while you learn the chords. Google your favourite songs + tabs! Some good songs to check out:

Judas Priest - Breaking The Law
Anything by Black Sabbath
The theme from the X-Men cartoon
DO NOT under ANY circumstances learn these (nobody will like you):

Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water
Guns'n'R - Sweet Child of Mine
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
If you want more help, just say the word. Also maybe you could tell us what you aim for. Like if you want to play metal or rock or funk or learn any specific songs. We're always here to help.
Only just noticed this post. Thanks :buddy: I only really play country/classical/pop, never been a fan of harder stuff imho
You should still try to learn something from Sabbath I'm sure you'd like it
So I played the most awesome gig ever yesterday. It was all spontaneous and fun to do
my respect goes out to the people who play gigs I'd shit my pants, I can't even play in front of 2 people let alone a small crowd
my respect goes out to the people who play gigs I'd shit my pants, I can't even play in front of 2 people let alone a small crowd
A small crowd is easier than 2 people, speaking from experience as someone who gigs once a fortnight, it's something you have to get used to, your first gig is never going to be great.
Well I'm just saying I could never do it, so nervous. That's why I don't play with other people really I remember when I used to hate playing in front of my teacher (that's the one who really wasn't that good a teacher though lol), but now I'm buddies with my new teacher and I love to play with/for him he's so chill
My first gig was actually awesome regardless of how much I was shitting my pants
Felt great when I played my first gig I shat my pants afterwords
I remember the first couple of my friend's first gigs I went with my other best buddy (we're like a trio, it's how it is) and the other guy was on stage playing guitar. We walked into the venue, and then like 30 seconds later it finished. He was hell happy to see us and we basically had the best day ever, there was like six of us there and there was a bunch of bands playing at this small pub So after his set (there were other bands) we ended up walking around the city all day and dodging traffic. Almost got killed lol For his next gig, we came in as they were playing and we were at the back of the venue and he saw us, and his face lit up and he waved at us as he was trying to play lol. I'll never forget those days, they were some of the best days of my life :unsmith:
My first gig I fell off the stage, into a festival crowd, guitar first.
