How come I've never heard of Sparkletops before!? [img_thumb]http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq16/pacer850/SparkleLesPauls005.jpg[/img_thumb] This is the first time I've ever wanted a Les Paul.
My god, I want the orange one.
Keep it in your trousers gents What do you play?
metal mainly, well thats what i plan on using this bass for anyways. have a cheap gsr200 for school band lol
Hell ya motherfucker, This beast, while cheap, will output grueling power-chords with enough bass to shake the whole goddamn house if I turn my amp up halfway, combine that with the Drop-C tuning I usually play in (D tuning being second, Drop B being third.), and .012 - .060 strings, this monster rocks. However, in order to go to Drop A/G for some songs, and just because I don't like Floyd Roses', I took mine out. Bonus pic: No, that picture was taken in 2009.

You could also try an Ibanez Iceman.
My hair is growing longer and longer, hoorah now I can cover my retarded face when i growl infront of 50 drunk metrosexuals

Anyone own a Rickenbacker?
I'm sure I've seen one guy post a picture in the past of all his guitars, and he had a Rickenbacker bass amongst them.
I've been busy with the song I'm making and it now sounds alot better than last time. Bass is now torelable and your curtains won't start shaking when you play the song on your speakers. Doesn't sound like a mess and you can now recognise the instruments better. And finally, it has also grown. Length wise. Still a WIP and I think I'll record the "chorus" again soon. Again, headphones gives you a much better experience. Comments are welcome!
Sounding a lot better than last time! I do have some criticisms though: The clean tone at the start sounds too reverby delayey still. It sounds quite muddy. The lead guitar that come in after the first riff needs sustain! Just like in the original midi. That sounded awesome. The riff in the middle is sounding pretty great :buddy:, and I love the ambienty sounds after it. Throughout the track there is some clipping, but it's not too bad. I think it's caused by your first clean track being too loud/compressed. If you want any more suggestions with mixing, I'd be happy to help out. I have some experience working with very average quality raw recordings from my interface, and I think I have a way with getting them to sound pretty good :v:
I don't like the guitar tone personally, but it sounds very professional. The rhythm guitar is a tiny bit too low and thin for my tastes.
I have a guitar I don't play too frequently. I would like to play more often but I haven't got a teacher so if you would be so kind and post some tips for beginners it would be much appreciated. Now I'm not too bad, I know some basic chords, A, C, D, Em, G (real), Dm and maybe one or two more of these "original" chords you play with the first, second and third fret. I'm not too good to read notes but that's not what I'm looking for. Just what I should learn, some tips on how I should learn them. For example, learn to switch between barre chords, do it by doing something. Thanks
Learn to play all major and minor chords. And some of the 7-chords if you want. Learn them and play them alot. Play along with songs and get comfortable switching between the chords. This is a really good start, regardless if you're playing acoustic, classical, or electrical guitar.
Still a WIP and I think I'll record the "chorus" again soon. Though I really wished people wouldn't keep posting WIP-material. I'm already getting tired of this song and it's not even finished! :S Furthermore, waiting with releasing it until it's fully done is a great motivator. But good job!
Just ordered a Tech 21 XXL Bass Ed. I'm fucking psyched to get my hands on it.
Playing the A shaped bar chord is difficult, but I'm getting good with it. My fingers feel cluttered.
I just use my index and ring finger to play major chords on the A string
I just use my index and ring finger to play major chords on the A string
How so?
How so?
You use your index to do the barre, and then use the ring finger to press the 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings, while avoiding to mute the 1st string. You just use the first "section" of the ring finger. Takes abit of flexibility.
I don't like doing that because I can't help but mute the first string. Maybe I should practice that if it is actually doable.

But whatever floats your boat!
I don't like doing that because I can't help but mute the first string. I use my index to barre and my pinky to play the D, G and B strings

Really well set up from the factory and the pickup sounds really good. Also, fun fact: It's the same bass flea has been playing on RHCP's latest tour.
To the bass dude, get a Vintage V1005 bass. It's 5 string and it has amazing tone. http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Vintage-V1005-Bass-Guitar-Quilted-Maple/74Z

Am I the only one who thinks those violin basses look ridiculously stupid
