Silly hypothetical question.
Can I get list of everyone in this thread who is actually capable of recording themselves playing? At a decent quality (no webcam mics, that sort of thing.)
Make sure you know what you want so you don't end up with a mix of a strat with a flying V and a BC Rich Warlock with over 20 pickups.
a single coil pickup running along each string

Measure well, use a bandsaw, not a jigsaw.
No, I know of people that do it. It doesn't quite sound the same though. Just use a thick E string. I string up my RG7620 with a six string pack of D'Addario 10's and an extra 0.065 E string for the B. It makes the tension bearable for the 25.5" scale, but I still really want a baritone scale guitar for tunings of C and lower.
I didn't even know D'addario made regular guitar strings in gauges up to 80, I've always used bass strings.

Giant-ass bolt on neck with a pickup under every fret.
So should I go for the sg?

I keep asking this question and never get any answers, I'm getting my second bass amp and I need advice, I want it to be powerful enough to be as loud as a medium guitar practice/small gig amp but I also want to be able to do a range heavy metal sounds and be able to do a bit of recording. My budget is £100 - £200 but I don't mind going a bit over, I was thinking about 100 watts.

You don't get many answers because most of us just play guitar and really don't know much about bass gear.
Though if I'm not mistaken Tezzanator is really good with this stuff - most likely because he plays bass in a RHCP cover band.

With nobody in it. Maybe a Steam group would make more sense.
I've been gigging a (Currently) 150W Gallien krueger Backline 600 into an Ashdown 2x10 Cabinet for around 3 years now and it's Loud, Reliable and a workhorse I am very happy with.
My personal experience with Ashdown has been less that stellar... I owned a Perfect ten and it broke after a couple of weeks and I have used ABMS, MAGs and EVOs in past and they just seem to lack a certain "presence" to them... I find I am cranking them HARD just to hear myself! - I would have trouble recommending ashdown at this point because I am put off. YMMV.
For Gigging with a rock band I wouldn't dip below around the 70W/100W mark, personally.
These stuck out to me while browsing around the £150-250 mark.
GK MB112, £246, 200W - 1x12"
SWR LA15, £201 100W - 1x15"
I'm still waiting for a GK MB115 (£326, 200W, 1x15") to come in stock in a store near me because I am looking for something lighter. I haven't played an amp that has come close to the clarity of GK stuff.
For the sort of cash you are talking, a nice combo is the way forward.
Someone else may have their favorite brand to recommend, I'm not going to pass off that I have played every brand and can be extremely objective, I can't. - Various Ashdown, GK, Peavey, Kustom, Ampeg and Marshall amps are what I have had contact with.
You called?

Uh...I know nothing about a lot of these brands, like Kustom or Rocktron or how Peavey's bass stuff is, but you could get a 200w 1x12 GK combo or 50w Ampeg for that. I think people were just talking about the Fender Rumble being decent too. Then nab a pedal with the remainder?
Or ask tezz, yeah, should've looked again before I posted.

Just for noting, you're not gonna need much in terms of wattage. I've an 80W, I've never gone above 9 o clock on the master volume. 50W would be fine for smaller venues.

and on a bass note; a punk classic:

Picks are dirt cheap, just get those. There are pocket amp things, but a real amp is hard to replace unless you use virtual amps on PC, which in the end can cost more than a real amp.
