the other guitarist has an explorer as well. man with the Les Paul also has an Epi Flying V, but he doesn't use it much because someone put Grover tuners in it and that made it neck heavy apparently. [editline]15th February 2011[/editline] also no one got photos of the other guitarist. he was on the left of the singer. [editline]15th February 2011[/editline] that one up there is as far as I know, the only one there is of all of us apart from the drummer
is it a problem that i cant play an A major with 3 fingers and have to use 2? my fingers are too big to use 3
So I have ~$500 dollars to spend on a guitar/amp combo, so any suggestions? I've been playing for around a year and a half now, and have been practicing on a shitty Korean guitar I picked up off of Craigslist for 20 dollars, and a small, 10watt amp, which sounds like a cat in a blender. My plan was to get a Spider III 75 watt amp for $200, but any suggestions for the guitar? I'm looking for something that can play more of a thrashier metal sound, but also sounds nice clean.
You might want to go ahead and not get a Line 6 Spider Just sayin
The Spider is a fine practice amp, in fact I'd say it's pretty damn good value considering all the modelling it can do.
The Spider is a fine practice amp, in fact I'd say it's pretty damn good value considering all the modelling it can do.
I would agree the spider is probably one of the best practice amps out there, I mean, you want metal through a squier tele, you got it. lol
I think you would be better off with a peavy vypir 15, but your choice.
Spiders are fine, everyone here is wrong
I played in our talent show this year for our small network school (We're a school, inside a school). So, my band agreed with me that we're just going to go the the Battle of the Bands to watch people play. Last year we had a guy with a tele and a big fender super six (i think?) who played like shit. Then there was someone with an acoustic from walmart who played his own rendition of a Michael Jackson song on it. Should I record it if I get the chance?
You might want to go ahead and not get a Line 6 Spider Just sayin
Any recommendations for a better amp? I've played a Spider III before, and it's not that bad, but if you know of anything better, then tell me. I'm just looking for a practice amp, that can possibly be used at like a small bar gig if the need arises.
quick proco rat demo for anyone who's interested running through peavey classic 50 stuffed in my closet. Sorry for the shitty quality Cursed laptop mic

I have a cube, I wish I'd bought the 20x one It would make all the difference
Whats a good cheap acoustic bass, any suggestions? I'm not looking for anything great just something I can take to my course with out needing to plug it in.
Maybe you should ask the bass thread
Maybe you should ask the bass thread
I dislike 2 threads, its like having a thread discussing ford cars and another one discussing holden. In the end they are both cars.
is it a problem that i cant play an A major with 3 fingers and have to use 2? my fingers are too big to use 3
How do you play an open A Major with just two fingers? They're not too big, trust me, practice more.
yeah an open A was fucking weird for a while till I got used to it
What's up with the red thingie at the headstock, I've seen a couple of guitarists with that but what is the practical use?
I don't use it for a reason, it's just cute =) [editline]16th February 2011[/editline]
Any recommendations for a better amp? http://www.thomann.de/gb/orange_cr20l.htm Might need a dist pedal, not too sure.

I think a music shop near me sells it but its about 400 more. Of course being Australian all the guitars are more expensive over here.
I may be a little late to the show, but I remember seeing a video on youtube where some guy says how to get Angus Young (ACDC guitarist's)'s sound. If I remember right, it was : 6.5 - distortion, 6 - treble and mid, and 8 - 9 bass, with volume around 9.

[editline]16th February 2011[/editline]
How do you play an open A Major with just two fingers? More guitar pictures, less cars!
I, for one, think it both looks and sounds like an abortion of an instrument.
Yeah, it looks like somebody ought to have gone whole hog and made a small-scale electric harpsichord and not wasted a few good pickups.
That looks like an over sized chapman stick to me
