Is there any particular way to do that? I've switched wall outlets already on both my amp and my effects pedal, didn't change a thing.. [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline] Switched to both grounded and ungrounded outlets
Try messing with your pickups or volume knob. My current guitar starts making buzz sounds when I mess with my volume knob.
Well at the store, i tried a Vox VT50 (i think), a Marshall combo of some kind and a Roland Cube 80 for the high gain, none of them gave me buzz.. Messing with my volume/tone knobs didn't make a difference either, or only slightly.
Check this: http://www.fretnotguitarrepair.com/repair/acoustic-guitar/buzzing.php Also, what kind of guitar is it, what kind of pickups does it use, how old is it (or was it bought used), are you using a proper instrument cable that sits properly in the jacks on both the guitar and the amp, and do you hear any buzz on the neck if you play unplugged and listen for it?
came up with a riff. I started it out in A, but I think it's better in E (also the first one wasn't meant to go on that long so I dunno what happened).

My problem is noise that gets worse when i touch the pickups. It's probably a grounding issue, but the guitar has been grounded today, and the problem still occurs. It's a new bought Ibanez RG7321, the 2003 model with strat-type bridge. It has a Dimarzio Crunch Lab as bridge pickup and a Dimarzio Liquifire as neck pickup. I bought it in 2007 or 2008.
You posts on the last two pages don't mention that you know it's not fret or nut buzz but okay. The hell do you mean by "when you touch the pickups?"
Thinking about picking up a bass for less than $200 CAD. I would just use my Marshall 250DFX for it at low volumes as I don't really care about it's well being if something were to happen to it. It would be for jazz/metal/rock, 5/4 string is cool, anyone have recommendations on a bass then? I was thinking about just getting one of those Rogue 4/5 string $119 basses, anyone have experience with them?
Playing a 5-string through a guitar amp is generally a bad idea.
@Xenocidebot Like i said, it is probably a grounding issue. When i touch the pickups while its plugged in, the noise gets louder. Especially when using high gain..

What kind of amp do you have
If you just had it grounded, then let's assume it might be anything else you haven't considered or had maintenance recently- defective pup (unlikely but who knows if this has been a long issue), shielding issue, dirty or defective pots, etc.
It just came back from the luthier who shielded it today, he even fully rewounded the pups to add shielding to them.
What kind of amp do you have
Peavey Vypyr 75
Does the amp still buzz when there's no guitar plugged in
No, i don't think it did. I'm not getting the buzzing anymore now so i can't really be sure, i'm gonna do more testing tomorrow. It's midnight, i'm tired. The fact that im not getting buzz now, does not guarantee that i won't be getting buzz another time... I know that for sure.

I just spent some quality time with my new bass and it plays so light compared to my old bass I didn't even notice there were strings in figure of speech.

Completely stripped down and repaired my friend's Stratocaster, fixed the input jack, fixed the trem, cleaning, new strings, fixed the wiring etc...
http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-Custom/Alex-Lifeson-Les-Paul-Axcess.aspx Rush custom? :buddy::fh: $6000? :smithicide:
flip that 6 upside down
I bet there's an Epiphone version for half the price
It's a 2011 limited run, so maybe something similar.
It's a 2011 limited run, so maybe something similar.
Oh Well I know that the silverburst LP and SG cost more than twice as much for the Gibson, without too much difference in quality (as far as I know)
flip that 6 upside down
That's if you want it signed. Lifeson's signature is 3000 bux. He's a fucking good guitarist, but Gibson must've been high as a kite when they set that price.
go big or go home if you're buying something like that why not just spend a little more
That's if you want it signed. Lifeson's signature is 3000 bux. The fucking singer from Staind's signature sent the cost of his acoustic up some retarded amount, and if you want it to look as fucked as his then I believe $18k was the RRP [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] Either way, Alex Lifeson's LP with thin neck heel and Floyd? Do not want. Gimme his 355 any day
How much do you guys think a used ESP LTD EX-401DX would go for? It has some light chips on the one tail, and some scratches that I can polish somewhat.
To a shop, look for lowest retail price and half it to be safe. To a person, maybe 2/3rds RRP in perfect nick
Oww yeah guys, here are some shitty Ipod pictures of my new bass and if anyone of you know the model of it I would like to know it :buddy: [img_thumb]http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/7116/ibanezbas2.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/1829/ibanezbas1.jpg[/img_thumb] These pictures don't do it justice. And ignore the DBZ posters, they're there since it was first on TV.
it's an Ibanez something
