Well ya see i need good tonal pedals, but the music store isnt friendly when it comes to testing out pedals on different amps. They usually kick you out after 20 minutes, I planned on spending a week there being an absolute tone anal freak

Actually, most guitar scores have position indicators. Like, XI, means that the following notes should be played with your index finger on fret eleven

I don't think either the boss metal zone or metal core pedals sound that great, but I don't think they sound [i]awful[/i] either. People tend to either think they're awesome or fizzly shit, but they just sound like a generic distortion pedal to me.

It was probably Metal Core.
I'd recommend the Maxon OD-808. Ibanez TS9 and the OD-808 are essentially the same pedal, since Maxon makes the TS9s and Ibanez puts its brand on it. Maxon is cheaper though.
