This makes me wish I played guitar, just so I could have a reason for making loads of picks.
You can pop them back in once you pop them out.
They're nice, but if you use one as your main pick for too long it'll fray.

I just found my sisters old Fender Squire (and it's the 20th anniversery edition too!)
I really want to fix this baby up, and I was wondering, Is it a good guitar?
(and yeah, that couch has flamingos on it :c00lbert:)
They are ok guitars, you do get what you pay for.
The older the Squier, the better it usually is in my opinion.
I fixed up my friend's 97 Squier affinity strat and in my opinion sounds almost as good as a mexican fender. Though they don't hold together as well as mexican strats.

Depends on how old it is, some of the Squires from the 90's are actually pretty decent, but more recent ones usually suck. I fixed my old Affinity up with a Humbucker and a new pickguard and it sound awesome.
Alright thanks.

It's from 2002
What song should I learn on guitar next? I play mostly jazz, blues, and classic rock.

On An Island by David Gilmour

Oh cool, I was trying to figure out when she bought it.

Honestly, the CV series, and more recently, the CVC series squiers are probably some of the best that have been made in the past 20 years. I mean, some of the ol' Jap squiers are pretty tough to beat, especially some of the fuji-gen ones (aka one of the highest regarded japanese factories for guitar construction), but these Classic Vibe Customs come pretty damn close, if not better.
Honestly, I've played a lot of CV's and CVC's, and while I do not own one (I have a custom built partscaster tele), I would gladly accept one over the standard mexican series.
You've got to remember that Squier and Fender are two separate entities with separate marketing directions. The way I see it is, with any guitar brand, it's not so much the brand or even country of origin, as much as it is factory of origin. They're contracting those factories to build "their" guitars.
I'm going to the guitar shop this weekend to look at guitars in the £100 to £200 Range, what sorts of brands should I be looking at, and what should I be looking for that's different to bass?

Probably Ibanez at that price point.
Low action and how comfortable your hand feels around the neck and such are key things to look for.
The Jackson JS1 for me was the besy beginner guitar, it feels great and is good quality for the price. Certainly better than a cheap Ibanez

I was looking at a ESP LTD F-10, but low action isn't really what I need, coming from bass.

Unless you never, ever plan on playing lead guitar and/or solos, yes it is what you need.
My new Peavey Vypyr came today. I LOVE IT! :3:
Theres just so much to play around with on it! My only problem with it is that it is a bit quiet when you plug your MP3 player in to play along with it so you gotta play around with the gain to get it level, which changes your tone quite a bit. Other than that, its brilliant!
I'm looking to get a guitar (I already play bass and I just want to get one to get rid of the dumb 'failed guitarist' statements and I want to be able to play guitar) for that sort of price, and it won't be my main instrument, would this be good for me? or should I invest in a more expensive guitar?
I know a kid in our guitar class that has an F-50
I really don't like it, the pickups sound weak and the quality is lacking, but it feels alright.
I would say get an Ibanez Gio, they are quite solid for a cheap guitar.

Tell that to SRV
I have a MusicMan Stingray 5 and an Ibanez Iceman (IC400)
Love my bass so much, but my electric could probably do with some new pups.
Just ordered a new guitar, you guys gon' have to wait and see what it is though. :c00lbert:
or you could just show us and not be a faggot
I do have one question, my friends gio im repairing is missing a bridge screw.
The screw that specifically moves the 6th string bridge saddle forward and back, including the spring, is just gone.
I am wondering if any stratocaster screw and spring will work on the saddle or does it specifically have to be from an ibanez.

Or I could wait to take sexay pictures of it.

low action is for CHUMPS
Ordering my esp tomorrow ^_^

I think you need to rethink that statement.
I have my strat at the highest possible action with gauge 13 strings. I can jam a solo if I want playing it fast and slow. Though, I'm getting used to doing 2 step bends like freddy king
It just takes time to get used to everything, and I fucking love deep resonance and "abnormal frequencies" coming from my amp.
low action is for CHUMPS
Or people who prefer low action.
Tell that to SRV
Okay or lots and lots of cocaine.
Okay or lots and lots of cocaine.
He stopped in 1984 after massive amounts of alcohol and some drug use from his drummer. Then he continued on with his 14 and sometimes up to 18 gauge strings.
And now that I reread your sentence, I'm not sure if you were directing the "lots of cocaine" to srv or to something else.
