He stopped in 1984 after massive amounts of alcohol and some drug use from his drummer. Then he continued on with his 14 and sometimes up to 18 gauge strings. And now that I reread your sentence, I'm not sure if you were directing the "lots of cocaine" to srv or to something else.
I was.
My dad was more impressed by me doing a slide from 1-12 on the first fret with high gain than playing the intro to Heaven Beside You :eng99:

Aww man, I used to love them, their chords are great to play, major chords with open b and e for everything.
. <----- my guitar
It's finished? [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline]
Ordering my esp tomorrow ^_^
ESP Horizon's and LTD Deluxe Horizon's are the best. You won't regret it.
Just ordered a new guitar, you guys gon' have to wait and see what it is though. :c00lbert:
I don't think anyone really cares, so you should just tell us [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline] Also a question, tied my strings up using this method Does this mean if I go down to drop C, or something that it'll lose tension or slip out? I doubt it severely, just asking a question [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline] Just realized that contradicts the whole thing
High action is for playing with a slide, I think.
Typically: High action = Full thick tone, harder to play Low action = Prone to slight fret buzz so less sustain, but much easier to shred on
Oh wow I can tell the difference by only having one new string on my guitar is going to sing when I get home, I think I've been abusing it by not changing the strings
According to a few people my Strat has a high action. I don't really think it does although my acoustic has lower action. It was pretty interesting because the winding started breaking apart in a lot of different places and it could slide up and down a little bit.

I'd put medium at a bit over 2 and high at 3 or above
Okay, I put down my guitar in it's stand, it was in E, picked it up 30 minutes later and the E was in D :v: Also, I prefer my action at 1.75-2mm. My EX is probably at 3mm right now though.
I don't think anyone really cares, so you should just tell us
I care. I care too much. Also, thanks guys, now I'm going to add measuring the distance between my string at the fretboard on my git to tomorrows to-do list, which already includes re-setting up my monitors and testing cable noise levels. Need some horn rimmed glasses since apparently this hobby is less FUCKING AWESOME and more HUGE NERRRRRRRD.

Went into cash converters (Australian pawn shop), they had the nicest Ibanez I've seen. [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline] I don't know what model but it was beautiful.

I remember you couldn't bend a half step on the b string the were so old and flimsy. It was only 12 months ago that I changed the strings. Now, most people who play my guitar can't bend the strings, let alone play a g chord :v:
My strings go rusty after 2 months, makes it annoying to play.
Don't tell me you're still on the 12 month old set of strings And if so especially don't tell me that you have an American Fender Strat
No and no. I'm sporting a vintage tokai ripoff of a strat, and a week old set of strings that are dead now. my dream is for. '59 strat, and keep my tokai as my main guitar.
I just want a new guitar for shredding really No dream guitar, just want some nice gear
If I would ever buy a non-bass guitar it would be a 9 string, so many stuff I could do with it. Awwww yeaaaaaah
16 string bass guitar <3
All I want is a Rickenbacker 4080/12. I would sell my firstborn into slavery for one of those awesome fuckers.
All I want is a nice Orange amp and a Fender Jaguar with open coil humbuckers. :saddowns:
All I want is a Vox AC30 of some sort, a Fender American Deluxe Telecaster and a Line 6 HD500. :saddowns:
Wait, that one has a low F# string, so does that mean it also has a high A string?
Nope, 30 inch is too long for a high A string.
Unless you never, ever plan on playing lead guitar and/or solos, yes it is what you need.
I meant I know how to fix it.
Nope, 30 inch is too long for a high A string.
Octave4plus can make you a .006 for a high G on a 30". It's doable but probably not recommended, or at least I just wouldn't bother :v: The tuning on those Agile 8's is fucking retarded though [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline] I've got a 1-1.5mm action on my 6 strings, gonna shoot for about the same on my fretless. Thinking about getting a Les Paul too...
Okay so I'm recording shit with my 7-string The thing is I want to have a bass track, but my bass only has 4 strings. So, can I tune it down a fourth with ease? If not, would an octaver for my guitar do the trick?
