What made dimebag so great? I've heard so much about him
The riffs, and his solos had a very distinct sound to them. No particularly astounding shredding or mellow melodies, but rather, a high-gain clusterfuck of beauty.
That's probably the best explanation anyone could give on that topic Also it's great to listen to a song that you can play ;)

When I first listened to that song I was blown away.
What made dimebag so great? I've heard so much about him
He died.
http://www.dbzguitars.com/ Here is a Dean alternative I suppose.
Oh no. I prefer Dean in that case.
He died.
I know, he was shot right?
5 times in the back of the head
I bet if he were still alive he'd not be so highly regarded.
probably, but he would still have been one of the best guitarists
He was a great guitarist, far from overrated. Maybe there are guys who can shred a little bit faster or whatever, but Dime really managed to write emotion into his solos, and they were really well written and phrased. And in my opinion he wrote some of the grooviest metal riffs ever.
on a side note, my laptop cannot handle recording my bass through a mic either. must be the sound card or something, cause my desktop could handle it through a mic

truth Shred doesn't really do anything for me but when I can tell someone has poured their soul into guitar I think it sounds absolutely fantastic.
I think that everytime I hear any riffs from Horizons Especially the outro to the song Horizons, it's incredible
I hear it with Dime most in his Floods solo, both mid song and outro
Oh no not this whole emotion discussion again..! What has emotion and not is subjective! Period.
sorry bro, you're just not deep enough to join in
Ohh that's below the belt.
you'll never understand brooo never!
Ohh that's below the belt.
I hope it breaks your heart, because you've broken mine Well goodnight fellas, it's 2am here I want to see some bromance about emotion when I wake up
Dimebag's solos makes me wanna hug every damn bro in the world
They induce bromance
The guy who wanted to buy my strat is now asking his wife if it's okay for him to but it. :suicide:
