I don't have a clue as to what you are saying.
XNBT2GLISH: "Does she have any music which doesn't involve Vai and is not generic pop garbage?"
XNBT2GLISH: "Does she have any music which doesn't involve Vai and is not generic pop garbage?"
No. I'm hoping she'll drop the whole pop stuff and go for something cooler. She has potential especially with most of the guitar gurus backing her up.
So, guys I'm getting to a point in my guitar experimentation where I understand music and the technique of guitar and can now put my skills together and can play actual pieces of music with success. I've been experimenting with some Chuck Berry, and hey-o I have a knack for bluesy jazz guitar it seems. I've decided on this for Christmas: That's an Ibanez Artcore AFS75T. (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/electric_guitars/ibanez/artcore_afs75t/index.html) If you dudes don't mind, I'd like your opinions and suggestions on an amp. I'd like to get a tube amp, other than that I accept any suggestions. Also Pepin, I never thanked you for the help with that Nirvana song. So thanks, and I finally did get it down.

Preferably something $500 or less.
Man, is something wrong with me? I play left handed, but my strings go from low E at the bottom to high E at the top. So the thickest strings are at the bottom. So basically I'm playing a right handed guitar left handed without restringing. Everyone I know says I play like a freak D: Gear: Ibanez XP300FX Vox DA15
What... how? How the hell do you manage that? Can you take a video?
^ You play like a freak [editline]9th December 2010[/editline] ninja.

It's not tube but it sounds better than many tube amps I've played. (Video is of the 120W model)

He has been, reborn
He has been, reborn
He played like that, but it was restrung. Yahnich plays with the low E where the High E normally is.
Didn't Kurt Cobain play like that though?
Probably
We all have guitar idols, the thing is when I mention Timo Tolkki noone has a fucking clue what I'm on about. If he died though, I don't see it making as much news as Dime's death, so I don't see death as a factor of popularity.

Same with Thomas Youngblood, Michael Romeo, Luca Turilli, etc...
Why would you want Timo Tolkki dead? He never did anything to you...
Why would you want Timo Tolkki dead? He never did anything to you...
I mean his legacy god damn better be carried on. Just like everybody else I listed.
Gotta make a cover video of Tool - Parabola. Such an orgasmic song.

That guitar is fucking classy, next stop, $500 shades and a tuxedo
Am I the only one thinking that that headstock is hideous
That guitar is fucking classy, next stop, $500 shades and a tuxedo
Why the $500 shades?
Because apparently everyone finds my method of playing odd, I am forcing myself to play properly. Thankfully I only have 2 months of experience, so my habit can be broken
who let you into my domain jk, glad to see your picking up an instument  [editline]9th December 2010[/editline] also was picking this up in class today great fun to jam with
Because apparently everyone finds my method of playing odd, I am forcing myself to play properly. Thankfully I only have 2 months of experience, so my habit can be broken
Habits are often easier broken than imagined. I completely relearned my picking technique after 1½ years of playing. I know Paul Gilbert did the same after some 8 years I think.
Now Nonikai don't be mad because I made some playful jokes I love everyone in LA equally except for lightbourne. [editline]9th December 2010[/editline] God I feel like such a noob, struggling to play Smoke on The Water decently
don't worry i love you too  I remember when I struggled to play smoke on the water, if it wasn't for that riff I would not have had the ambition to learn the stuff I know now
But I can play a lot of songs my way, it's just now I'm forcing this proper way on myself that I'm struggling. And I had just gotten the hang of hammer ons and pull offs D:
There is no proper way, only ways you prefer.

Don't force yourself to play a way which isn't comfortable unless you're going classical :v:
99.9 % of all good guitarists have very similar technique. I would suggest going in that direction. The moment I abandoned my own ways in favour of the recommended way, my skills improved tremendously. Just my 2 c.
