I'd love to have the right kind of printer to do big decals like that
oh the possibilities
Look into fourthfloorgraphics. Guy on SS.org got a decal made by those guys which is removable without damaging the finish

Also, Kab2tract, it's cool, but what the fuck is it? :v:

It's what my custom guitar is gonna look like when it is finished, except reverse headstock.
I got that, but what is the design meant to be? :v:
Anybody every play around with a midi guitar? If so, how are they?

I dunno, just abstracts paint smears haha.
I love Philip Sayce, he's pretty technical and groovy. for only being like 18 in his video.

God I wish I knew scales properly.
God I wish I knew scales properly.
You don't know any?!
Not even pentatonic minor or regular major scales?
Seriously?
I didn't say I didn't know ANY. I said I don't know them properly, or different mode scales.
I know minor pentatonic and major scales. But I don't know how to play them properly up and down the fretboard. You know?
It's all about memorizing multiple scale patterns. Practice them with a metronome over and over and you'll memorize them. There are a few different patterns for any given scale, for example:
These are both the A minor scale.
------------------------------5-----
------------------------5-6-8-------
------------------4-5-7-------------
--------------5-7-------------------
--------5-7-8-----------------------
-5-7-8------------------------------

-----------------------------------
------------------------------8-10-
-----------------------7-9-10------
--------------5-7-9-10-------------
--------5-7-8----------------------
-5-7-8-----------------------------
Both play the same exact notes but they are different and one may be better than another in certain situations. Knowing how to navigate the fretboard is pretty essential.
I don't really think you need to memorize all the notes on the fretboard, but you should memorize where all the notes are in C major (CDEFGAB). From that, you know where all the D#'s are because there are a semitone about D, and the same goes for any other note.
Modal scales are a joke to learn. With the exception of the locrian, there is only one note different from the usual scale, meaning that the Dorian and Phrygian only have have one done different than the minor scale, meaning that if you know the minor scale that you just have to make one alteration to the scale pattern. In the case of the Dorian, you'd just have to raise the 6th.
------------------------------5-----
------------------------5-7-8-------
------------------4-5-7-------------
--------------5-7-------------------
--------5-7-9-----------------------
-5-7-8------------------------------
Really, two changes in the overall pattern isn't at all hard to remember.
Even beyond that, if you really know your fretboard and know just C major, you already can play all the modes, all you have to do is just start on a different note. Want to play the Locrian but don't know how? Just play the major scale except starting and stopping on B.

Wish I had one! Just for the funny effects I could apply to the guitar
Also I heard some videos with an axe fx ultra with random weird settings and they almost sound like you would use a midi guitar with some synth programm!
On the subject of A Minor, learn this

My guitar came in the mail yesterday.
But I have to wait until next Saturday. :frown:
I might as well post some pictures of all my instruments because I don't think I have yet.
The bass I was talking about. I bought is off my brother almost two yeras ago. I can't get a good shot of it, but the strings don't look dirty at all and they really don't make my fingers feel dirty or smell when I play it.

This is my brother's bass. He is over in Afghanistan and he said I can use it. It is very nice. I can't seem to find one of the knob caps, so I'll have to find that before he comes back.

I just got home not long ago and came into the living room to see my stepdad shredding Eddie Van Halen style eruptions, doing solos n shit on a brand new £1000 Prestige Ibanez he decided to get himself for Christmas today.

Challenge him to a guitar battle for the Ibanez.

The only other people with any musical talent in my family are a couple of my cousins, the rest are all artistically brain-dead.
So I don't have to worry about gear jealousy, especially not after I get my beautiful new PRS.
I will DEFINITELY go to Hell. He's FUCKING good :v:
I tried to let my dad play my guitar onc. After 10 minutes he still didn't get that your fingers go BETWEEN the metal bars and not on them.
I got my 9 year old brother interested in playing guitar. He's pretty much still at the stage of bashing the strings for fun but it's a start. Need to get him listening to some of the classics and get the obsession started young :v:

I've always wanted to be an artist, but my sister got my dad's drawing genes
I got the musical side and am related to one of the best bassists in Iceland (may his soul rest in peace)
artists don't need to know how to draw
you know music is an art right
My guitar teacher suggested a Studio instead of a SG. SG is the only guitar he has ever sold.
He likes Les Paul the most, but it's out of range for me, due to it's price.
