My guitar teacher suggested a Studio instead of a SG. SG is the only guitar he has ever sold.
He likes Les Paul the most, but it's out of range for me, due to it's price.
There are Les Pauls for the price of an Sg-310
artists don't need to know how to draw
you know music is an art right
yea, but forgive the way i explain things, it's not that easy for me hehe
we have the words in icelandic setup for artist (one who draws) and a musician
that's the way we tell the difference
Are they neat?

What's a decent guitar if you're interested in learning/teaching yourself how to play?
Carbon fiber guitars, what's your guys' opinions on them?
Personally, I'd take wood any day.

What genre?
What's a decent guitar if you're interested in learning/teaching yourself how to play?
whichever one you like and is in your price range

also just came up with a little lick that seems like it'd be good for warming up so I thought I'd share it

Dad ordered my brother a ESP LTD H-101FM for christmas. The box is right next to me but no-one is aloud to touch it till the day.
Jesus Christ on a unicorn Jonny Greenwood sure plays like there's no tomorrow.

What in the fuck?

Looks neat, though. It'd be fun to fuck around with one.
What's a good audio interface for recording guitar, bass, and vocals for under $200? I was thinking about going for the Line 6 Pod Studio UX2, but I wanted to see if you guys could offer any advice/opinions.

You will probably need one with XLR input, check what you mic has(does it need phantom power?), how many mics at the same time are you recording?
USB or Firewire?
M Audio Fast Track Pro
Tascam 144mk
The Native Instruments looks good
I've heard decent things about the Line 6 stuff but I'm unsure
Go for something with more inputs than you need.

Well, it's mainly for guitar and bass, but I want to be able to record vocals if I want to. I (unfortunately) have no firewire input on my motherboard, so it's going to have to be USB.

If you want the best preamps but meh analog to digital converters and resolution:
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Blackjack/
If you want something well-rounded with modeling options but no free DAW software:
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PodStuUX2/
If you want something well rounded with a light copy of (whoop looking at the firewire equivalent) Ableton included:
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FastTrackPro/
If you want the absolute best resolution in the price range, but very little for included software (Cubase LE and basic amp modeling):
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AudioKont1/
A/D conversion and resolution are of variable importance depending on how much you compress or EQ your sound after it's recorded (acoustic stuff needs higher resolution and better conversion to sound natural.) Preamps would mostly be important for you if you were doing vocals. If your amp options are limited, modeling might be a bonus. Similarly, if you have no recording software, something like Cubase or Ableton would be extremely useful.
Personally, I'd go for the Audio Kontrol or Fast Track Pro. Probably the AK1, but I'm a Native Instruments fanboy of late.
NI kicks ass
I'd go with it
I'll definitely check those out Xenocide, thanks for the suggestions
[editline]14th December 2010[/editline]
I actually really like the look of the NI's specs. It'll probably be a while before I get it but it looks like that might be the one I go for.

Icemans are heavy.
The iceman I wanted was 850 now its over 1110. :frown:
I was wondering what hardware I could buy to connect my guitar to the PC and use software to make cool sounds. I really just want to do some recording/ experimenting. I was looking for something cheap, but when I looked up ADDA converters, it only came up with upwards of $1500 :(
Edit: awww shit. Thought page 20 was the last page earlier.
