Thank you, sir. Would this be better than the Audio Kontrol posted earlier? They are the same price.
I don't know shit what I'm talking about, but I'd go with NI.

Will it have enough "umph" for some awesomely distortion?
'cause i came back from school with the knowledge that the pickups will never have enough "umph" for distorted Rock n Roll, blues kinda thing.
Icemans are heavy.
any mahogany guitar is going to be on the heavy side

It's mostly down to your amp. High output pickups aren't nearly as responsible for the genres you can play with it as people think. You can play metal with a hollowbody with standard pickups if your amp is up to scratch. On saying that, SGs are pretty popular in metal, particularly in sludge and stoner genres

Recorded with an SG, as was all of Sabbath's stuff
any mahogany guitar is going to be on the heavy side
You'd be surprised. Mahogany has a habit of being made into "heavier" guitars, mainly due to it's attachment to the Les Paul name. As such, it's often used for more vintage-style guitars, which tend to be less sleek than modern designs. Some pieces of mahogany are lighter than the Alder used for Strats
Also I'm aware the "vintage guitars" point is a generalisation so don't bother pointing it out, it's still valid
so basically it's not the mahogany's fault for the mahogany guitar being heavy?
ok
http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=60
The Presonus 1Box is getting good press right now, The mic isn't the best quality but for a "Get you up and running" kit it isn't bad. The XMAX Pres are the same they use in their higher end products too.
No... mahogany isn't that heavy when compared to other woods, but it's often used in shapes which are generally bigger. In terms of other woods it generally tends to be lighter than Alder and maple and about he same as ash
Mahogany varies greatly in weight from piece to piece. I've picked up boards that weigh a tonne, and likewise theres ones that will weigh as much as basswood or alder.
Mohogany is not really in the "hardwood" class. Hardwoods are like maple, walnut, cherry, and then the ultra-hards like ebony, rosewood, guayacan, etc.
I'd say mohogany is sort of intermediate between lightweight and heavy woods. Sort of a medium class.
Also, ash is a lot heavier than alder. Even swamp ash tends to be quite heavy. Swamp ash likely varies, the last piece I saw weighed almost as much as the northern ash counterpart.
My bad, I had a piece of ash which was about the same as mahogany, must have been a heavy chunk of mahogany :v:
Both my guitars are mahogany, but my Les Paul is a lot heavier than me schecter
Okay so uh...
My bad, I had a piece of ash which was about the same as mahogany, must have been a heavy chunk of mahogany :v:
Yeah, it varies. Also, take into account there are different types of mahogany. I think Epiphone tends to use Launa AKA "Phillipine Mohogany" wheras Gibson still uses Honduras Mahogany. Likewise some people may just be using African Mohogany and be calling it "Mohogany" African is still just as good as Honduras, though Honduras remains popular for some reason despite its somewhat scarce and over-harvested status.
The idea of "authentic mohogany" is a huge fucking joke anyways. Spanish Cedar (a species of mahogany) was first used as a cheaper substitute for rosewood necks and backing, then cuban mahogany was used as a substitute for that to save on shipping costs of Spanish Cedar, then it became apparent that honduras mahogany was cheaper than cuban mahogany so everybody started using that. Now everybody is still using Honduras Mohogany instead of African because its "sounds better" or some stupid reason like that, despite the fact that African Mohogany is gorgeous and probably sounds exactly the same.

Okay so, if i use my fender mustang II It'll sound awesome?

Single Coils are great for rock. If you're venturing into Hard Rock or Metal, Humbuckers have a more balanced and predictable sound so they sound smoother under lots of gain. You can play high gain with single coils, but you'll get a loud 60 cycle, and they'll sound a tad rougher.
I find single coils just get more distorted sounding under gain (distorted in the literal sense) humbuckers benefit more from the overdrive.

Also Single coils get less gain because they have a lot lower output
I think he meant the Fender Mustang amp :v: which I've never tried so I couldn't tell you. Go to a shop and try it with your amp, see what you think

yeah so like I said my last post
the mahogany isn't the reason for most mahogany guitars being heavy
You said it sarcastically so I assumed you were being a douche about it :v:
Small amps tend to sound fairly rocky under heavy gain. Rocky as in unstable
okay, well will it output enough for like 70's rock like early ACDC?
EDIT:

This is my alternative, suits my needs better or?
That'd work fine for 70's rock. Either of them would. When it comes down to it you can use anything for anything, but certain guitars will excel a bit more at certain things.
You should probably get a guitar equipped with p90s if you are playing 70s rock. p90s are versatile pickups.
I mean humbuckers fall short in kinds of funk and some kinds of blues compared to strat-style single coils, strat style single coils fall short in hard rock and metal, but show me a form of music that p90s cant do.
Anyone who can recommend me a great acoustic western guitar/guitar brand as i'm looking to buy one. The price range is fairly cheap, between 1000-1800kroner which is ca. between $178-321.
$320 won't get you a great guitar from any brand, just so you know.
I have a Washburn 12 string acoustic that retails for $450-ish and it's a pretty nice sounding guitar.

Me performing with my ensemble group
We go to a music oriented school so it's actually a school subject :v:
I'm guitar(obviously)
About the solo at about 2:33:
We had agreed on verse - chorus - verse - chorus - solo - chorus x2,
but one of the singers forgot the second chorus and was looking at me like 'why aren't you playing :downs:' so I just made the best of it xC
So yeah that's why the solo turned out not-so-good, it was improvised in sheer panic
What do you think?

Oh, that's okay then :buddy:
why are those stupid girls infront of you!
Don't wear glasses while rockin' out! It makes you look so innocent, dude you play guitar :buddy: Also the girls were in the way even at the solo!
any mahogany guitar is going to be on the heavy side
Trust me, Iceman is very heavy. I have an ESP EX-401DX (explorer shape) and an ESP Deluxe H-100fm and they are both mahogany, and both lighter than the Iceman.
