Don't wear glasses while rockin' out! It makes you look so innocent, dude you play guitar :buddy: Also the girls were in the way even at the solo!
Glasses are for badasses. I think the solo was pretty good. Couldn't hear it much, but what I could hear was pretty good. Also, those girls are douches. They should have moved back a bit when they weren't singing.
I would have a) ripped a massive A chord b) pushed the chicks out of the way c) soloed for the rest of the song to spite them for fucking up the arrangement
I found this amp which really seems to suit the styles I want to get into. Namely some more psychedelic rock like Pink Floyd and apparently it's got a good tone for blues and rock in general. Since it's capable of nice bluesy tones, I would assume it's alright for jazz too. What do you guys think?
Me performing with my ensemble group We go to a music oriented school so it's actually a school subject :v: I'm guitar(obviously) About the solo at about 2:33: We had agreed on verse - chorus - verse - chorus - solo - chorus x2, but one of the singers forgot the second chorus and was looking at me like 'why aren't you playing :downs:' so I just made the best of it xC So yeah that's why the solo turned out not-so-good, it was improvised in sheer panic What do you think? [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] Woo page king Also I know I look like an idiot in that video, don't judge me :v:
Hey man, one thing that is great to do for solos If you have a volume pedal (or an amp where turning the volume past .5 doesn't explode it), use the volume pedal at half of full on when you play rhythm (or whatever sounds good with the rest of the band). That way, when you play your solo, you can turn it up without having to do that much work, and everyone can hear you. Solo was good, I might videotape myself teaching my orchestral band how to play a song tomorrow.
You should. It would be interesting to watch.
My video camera doesn't have a battery, but I can try and find a plug in the room to use for the charger. I also don't think we have drums.
Anyone else use a POD of any sort? I use a POD X3 and I've found some okay tones but still looking for a great metal tone. I've recently started double-tracking my tracks so that helps the sound somewhat. Here's what it sounds like right now. I'm pretty happy with that video, but I ideally want to cover more technical, heavier bands, and that tone falls a bit weak for that stuff.

Wow, practise does make perfect, just by playing the A scale slow as fuck alternate picking, i can now play it 5 times as fast as what i could without fucking up. I never thought I would be able to do this

AFAIK it basically works exactly the same as the X3 bean.

I think I have found my new love :'D Ibanez FR2620-DBS :h:
Strat with a tumor
It's awesome. :'(
Whatever makes you happy man [editline]16th December 2010[/editline] The *pickguard looks hot
When I play it, I can play stuff that I couldn't do on my old guitar. :D
I don't know if I like it or not. Mixed feelings about it. Remove the tumor and maybe a bit lighter paintjob and it's a better looking guitar imo.

I never thought I would be able to do this
I've not made any speed increases recently, thought that might be from not having much time to practice. 'tis the season for typing 50 page papers, etc. Though what I did do I spent getting comfortable with non-monkeybastard picking. And woe to me, for I actually like it better than my half-pencil now. And it makes holding big stubbies goddamn impossible.
I use big stubbies every time I'm not playing in my room. I only have 1 jazz stubby and it's my favourite so I don't risk losing it

I'm looking for a new practice amp, and some kind of PC recording interface. Possibly with a mic for an acoustic guitar also. I play thrash metal (but I'm in a pop-punk band...album is being recorded 12/27-12/30) so hopefully something versatile enough to cover everything I play. Recommendations are appreciated<3
Steel acoustic or nylon?

Nardix the angle makes your strat look chubby :0 I'm sure it's beautiful IRL though
Steel acoustic or nylon?
steel but since i posted that I decided I just want a practice amp with headphones :x
