My college's guitar tutor is an absolute inspiration to me. He writes and records solo jazz albums, listens to pretty much anything and has introduced me to a lot of music, and right now, he's writing his own music using a 2 amp setup with dissonant harmony. He has two pitchshifters/harmonisers set up, one in each signal chain, and he has one set to a minor 2nd and a flattened 5th from the original note, the other at a major 2nd and a perfect 5th. I need to hear this shit.
Wow I have no idea what you mean at the last part Elaborate, sounds interesting [editline]18th December 2010[/editline] My guitar teacher is writing his own album too, he played me a bit of one of the songs and it was great He's so talented :fuckyou:
He's got his guitar running into a splitter box, then into two separate amps with two signal chains, both with pitchshifter's/harmonisers. One takes the note he's playing and copies it, shifting one up a minor 2nd and the other a flattened 5th. The other amp does the same with a major 2nd and a perfect 5th. It's meant to sound amazing
I wouldn't mind a mentor, or being around someone who's better than me. The easiest way to get better is to play with people who are better than you.
move to iceland and play with me

Yes, a minor 2nd would be a semitone above the root note.
it is not!
i dunno i'm sort of sick of the whole "being in a band" thing, with the kids thinking they're the shit because they have a clever name and can play some songs together it's like it's not about making music anymore, and i don't like it
What is FPs thoughts on the digital guitar? I think it looks kickin' rad and I want one :D
I think it looks neat, but I can't see ever using it.
I love how divisive the picture I posted is
I love how divisive the picture I posted is
That ESP Custom you posted? I think it is sexy.
Aye. Definitely seems to be a love/hate thing though :v: I want a Gibson style V at some point but Gibson can blow me. Might end up trying to build one. it's probably end up looking similar to that but semi-hollow if everything were to turn out peachy
According to USA custom guitars, Eastern Rock hard maple is great for the 80's metal tones. Like, full maple bodies I mean.
Gah. There's this tradition at the upper secondary school(?) that we do a thing (Music, drama, dancing etc) and we got the subject alchemy. Are there any good songs relating to this subject (with guitar)?

the electro harmonix memory boy is an analogue delay and the boss is a chorus pedal. oh and the holy grail is a reverb.

Im so confused. I'm in a band that makes music. We've made 5 songs in the last 3-4 months if I'm counting right and have NEVER covered a band. We make ~music~

I fucking hate you
Hopefully pics of the actual guitar soon.
I fucking hate you
why can't I have such a beautiful guitar too :smith:
I've been GASing for a Jazzmaster for ages :( Let me know how your's sounds, I'm interested in the Thurston Moore. We can be cross-Pacific Sonic Youth buddies. If and when I can afford it that is
That'd be awesome. Depending on where you're from, you can get them in the U.S relatively cheap at the moment. I can assure you it sounds just as amazing as it looks. I'm hoping to get my camera fixed soon so I can upload pictures and maybe a demo video.
Scotland, I'm not sure how bad imports and customs are over where you are but we get kinda raped for it over here :saddowns: Where did you order yours from?
Ordered it at a Zzounds in New York. Family friend picked it up and had it sent to me. [editline]18th December 2010[/editline] I didn't do much. I got my friend who actually lives there to do most of it for me. I just sent the money and explained which one I wanted. She's a champ.
