It's a cheap thing I picked up off eBay. It's pretty good though. Way better than what was there before. It's pretty basic though, you can't split the coils.

Just my opinion.
trim. the. strings.
trim. the. strings.
Yes, please, only douchebags don't trim their strings.
Guys, any tips for gallop in "The Trooper"? Is the pattern Down, down, up down? How should I pratice it? Ive been using a metronome, and after praticing 3 hours straight, I can now do it at 150 bpm. But its the pattern correct? Im doing down on the 1st beat, down on the 2nd beat, then up in between beats, then down on the 3rd beat. Is it correct?
As long as it sounds good and you can play it comfortably, and at full speed, it's fine.
Well, the thing is, I dont really know if it sounds good : ( I guess it would only sound good If i was able to do it at full speed, so I dont really know until I do. But i dont even know if im practicing something wrong.

Hard to fully understand from text. Check it, Gallop pattern: [ -D | D-U-D | D-U-D | D-U-D | D-U- ] When galloping, your hand should move just as it does when tremoling/alternate picking. The difference here is that you skip picking every fourth note.
Who the fuck thought it would be a good idea to make this Guitar Pro tab in 400bpm?
trim. the. strings.
your av reminds me of kyle v2

But what ive heard so far is that iron maiden mostly uses the [ D-D-U-D | D-D-U-D | D-D-U-D | D-D-U-D ], but i wonder if its correct. Any of you guys know how to play "The trooper"?

Maiden and Raining Blood essentially do the same thing. They just start on different beats. Like I said. This is for The Trooper: Start with D. Then just repeat D-U-D. [ D | D-U-D | D-U-D | D-U-D | D-U-D... ] Notice the similarity to Slayer?
The Raining Blood gallop is pretty cool to play. :swoon:

Thanks : )
Would anyone be able to tell me how to get that thick, deep Cream/Sabbath sort of tone? I'm using a Fender Mustang II and I must say, I wish I'd gone for the Super Champ now. All these programmed effects are kind of cool but I just want my clean/dirty channel now.
You should be able to play clean legato faster than you pick cleanly.
Oh, now I feel less terrible about my picking speed.

You have to plug it into a computer to access the Princeton model though.

Stumbled across it looking for a good way to play Doors songs.
your av reminds me of kyle v2
I had this before. he saw it and replicated it. mine is Dime Darrell Abbott, kyle's is himself. on topic: I CAN'T FIND A SINGLE GODDAMN BASS HARD CASE THAT CAN FIT A DEAN Z EXCEPT A SPECIAL MODEL SPECIFIC ONE THAT IS £115
Could someone explain me what the hell djent is?
Djent is used to describe a certain kind of guitar tone characterized by medium-high gain, a quick-release noise gate to emphasize staccato playing, a cut of most bass below 200Hz for a tight low end, a slight boost around 800hz for clarity, and a noticeable boost around 1.6Khz to emphasize pick attack. When a two-octave power chord is palm-muted with this tone, a "djent" sound is created rather than the typical chunkier sound.
Can't really say that explanation helped.
Could someone explain me what the hell djent is?
It's kinda like "dub." Nobody really has the slightest idea, but it's fun to say.
There is my shtuff, except my drum kit had a terrible pic and I don't feel like taken another. I'm getting to a point where I can throw random sweeps into my improb, need to get better at getting out of them though because it doesn't sound very good to sound on a note I was just sweeping with. Probably be best to end it on a chord change and land on one of the new chord tones. The sweeps are of course the cliche ones that people first learn.
I guess you aren't into guitar enough to follow through with what you say instead you just keep posting and trying to criticize people for doing something you can't :byewhore:
Fuck man, relax
I can't play normal gallops anymore, everytime I try my hand starts playing the Bleed rhythm( D-U-D-D | D-U-D-D ) :v:
Any opinions on the Boss ME-50/ ME-70?
Any opinions on the Boss ME-50/ ME-70?
Yup! I have the ME-50 and it's pretty good, however, the OD/DS modes are not what I expected. I use the Modern DS setting with the gain, tone and bottom knobs at 2 o'clock to replicate John Petrucci's crunch sound. The main problem is that it misses clarity, which can sometimes be frustrating. It's also annoying that Reverb is a standalone effect instead of it being mixed in with the rest of the Mods. It's a really good pedal for smooth cleans though, if you enhance your sound with the "Tone Modify" section, you can really get a bright clean sound with for example, your neck pickup. Also the Delay and Expression Pedal are very good! (I use an Ibanez RG7321 with DiMarzio Crunch Lab 7 and LiquiFire 7 which is directly hooked up to the ME-50, and then into a Peavey Vypyr 75)
