What are the string tunings for drop C#? I've never heard of it.
What are the string tunings for drop C#? I've never heard of it.
It's just like drop C, but all the notes are sharp
so C# G# C# F# A# D#, lowest to highest
Just add a flat to get the C#. Tuners will pick up notes in different octaves than they should be. Once you get one string tuned you might as well just do relative tuning on all the other strings and then fine tune it with the tuner. Just know what note each string is and if it isn't a standard tuning note just flat one of the standard tuning notes down until you get to the right note. For example: to get a G# you can just flat once because an A flatted is G#.
If you have one of those tuners where you can't flat, there is only an off switch, well look for an online tuner and tune the lowest string, and then relative tune all the others. Make sure the lowest string is as accurate as you can get.
If your tuner is like the one below and you flat it and then you play a C#, it will tell you that you're playing a 4D when it is really a C#. It is common sense, but I can imagine someone getting confused thinking the tuner is broken.

Very useful, it seems all of your posts are
I'm pretty sure it's a chromatic tuner as well, my tuner that is
Getting a new amp around the $800 (AUS) range and I must have Facepunch give me advice! I'm looking for something which has some really killer clean channels, and a good/decent overdrive and gain. I'm not looking for a modelling amp, but probably not a stack either because usually they're out of my price range. If you guys could help me out it'd be much appreciated, even if its just a few amps that are around that price which are pretty cool.
Get a Line 6

Went to a party the other night and they were running their music through a line6 amp, I wanted to find the person who bought it and tell them what an idiot they were.
that would've showed them
Was thinking of getting a vox amp, maybe a night train combo if I can afford it in after christmas sales but maybe not
Going to try and get my local guitar shop to order in an iceman for me and seeing my guitar teacher is best mates with the owner could get it at a good price.

lol, so much hatred
I have a Line 6 amp. It's not that bad but I wouldn't record anything with it, and its only a combo so it doesnt matter for when I get a stack
I have that exact same tuner. It tunes all the way down to Low F for me.

It also has support for 7 string guitars and 5 string basses last time I checked. I got it free with a lousy $100 entry level acoustic I picked up
Did a cover of Tools song Parabola.

Nice bathrobe!
Seemed like you were nervous playing that? But it sounded 99% accurate, good job. Also, what kind of guitar is that? It looks like an Ibanez S series, but the headstock is different. Love the sound!

No, I wasn't nervous at all. Just couldn't move much because I was tangled in my cords.
It's a Schecter Omen-7 and I'm really pleased about the sound, because it's pretty close to the one Adam Jones uses.

Doesn't Jones use a silverburst Les Paul?

Yes, but I was talking about the general tone I got from my amp with a little fiddling.
Yeah I wanted to add that your sound is a lot like Adam's.
I went from a Spider III to a Digitech RP250 to Guitar Rig 4.

I'm still finding it really surprising that it's the best VST amp sim I've yet played. Really, with what Amplitube costs, it should be better. Though it seems like the pedals are more solid in 3 than they used to be.
amp sims are only good for making reese synth basses
Aw my mum told me she wasn't going to by me a Peavey Vypyr 30 for Christmas because I have one that works perfectly well.
Its a Marshall MG50DFX. :colbert:
Does it still work perfectly lol?
If so she would have got you there :smug:
