the plan was to use it on the clean channel of my dual terror so it wont sound so thin and brittle
Tried a silver Dean Mustaine V at the guitar shop today, it was amazing! I could play stuff in it I couldn't possibly do on my SG. Also, the sustain I swear is unlimited, it's crazy!

But in all seriousness, that pun was horrible and you should feel ashamed.

It was the more expensive one right? The VMNT and not the VMNTX?
I've never been sure about Boss pedals, but this one produces nearly inaudible noise for what I intend to use it for so whatevs.
I hear good things about the Boss NS-2 Noise Gate.
I've never used any boss pedals but I like the aesthetic similarity between all of them

Aren't most stompboxes that way? I thought most companies now used one generic design for everything that wasn't a wah or multi-effect now. At least Boss, Dunlop, Hardwire (has anyone used one of these before?), and Digitech do.

I just don't like that behringer stole that look from BOSS.
MXR Pedals from Dunlop also use a different footswitch.
Also xeno look on the last page. I just bought a HardWire Delay/Looper effect haha.
I've had a strong urge to make my own effects pedals. I will need some more electrical engineering classes for that. I could probably do something with a pic chip and an A/D converter though, and that could be pretty cool. Would probably go for more electronic sounds though.

yeah but beyond that
if they weren't different colors they'd almost be the same pedal on the outside

Couldn't tell you, sorry. It was a little under £800 if that helps, and it had active pickups I think, saw a battery cover on the back. The neck had the silver finish on the back as well.

I've built a Big Muff clone and I just ordered components to build an analogue synth. Getting a Jazzmaster for Christmas, so excited.

I haven't really played with it much yet, but if Reaktor is as good for distortion as it is for everything else, I'll probably be making some custom effects patches soon. Too bad Guitar Rig isn't compatible with Reaktor stuff, it'd be fun to be able to load them in GR.
Making a real pedal would be sweet, but I don't have the gear to do it.
a while ago I went to radioshack to get all the parts to build a distortion pedal
they had everything but the pcb

What is going on, you're like one step behind me in life.
About a month ago I thought that I should build my own pedal. I did, you should do it. We should become life buddies.
Grabbed a used Boss DS-1 as my first pedal and I'm really enjoying it
$20 well spent

Same thing, same price.
It's really good for what it is.
That's a horrible boss pedal
in my opinion...
Its basic and does nothing fancy, it adds gain then clips it with diodes... simple.
There are loads of mods for them though due to the simplicity.
My guitarist friend used to hate it but it has grew on him.
I understand that, but they just never grew on me. I'm very picky about my distortion. I'm sorry, I'm a dick.
i wanna build a new guitar myself, using custom parts, which pickup routing would sound best for a 90's punk sound?
What should I get if I wanted it to sound more "metal" stuff like Kalmah's distortion?

Went and bought this with my dad today, now I just have to wait until Saturday :D

That is the VMNT, the VMNTX is probably less than £300, but I live in Canada.
Everyone hates the Spiders?
Why, A friend of mine has a stack version (100 watts or something) and another one has the 75 watt combo version
I've never seen my other friend actually use it, except for a couple of shows he played with it.
My other friend digs country and old school rock and roll and says that his combo handles it perfectly, while my other friend likes metal
If it can please both of them, then why is it a bad amp?
Don't get me wrong, the DT50 and the Vetta II are both good modelling amps, but the Spiders are baaaad!
Usually the Chorus Flanger/Phaser/Tremolo effect stays stuck on the Flanger part, and while you can select multiple channels for example metal, rock and something else, they all sound exactly the same when you listen to them.

Cheap and shit? Boss Metalzone
Cheapish and great? Barber Dirty Bomb
More expensive and amazing? Okko Dominator
Remortgage and amazing? Toneczar Openhaus
