I think knowing that good guitarists uses certain brands can certainly influence many people. You shouldn't base it solely on that, but they obviously must be good/decent brand if your idol endorses them.

I got a Fender because the guitarist in my band didn't need it any more.
And I like it because Clapton, Gilmour, the Vaughan bros, Cray, Knopfler and Buddy Guy play them :colbert:

Clapton, Guy and Gilmour are indeed gods. Not a a huge fan of Fenders in general though. Too much treble for me. Also not a fan of single coils in general.
Fuck brands, independant luthiers over all.
Also I play the cheapest brands :smug:
Also, I finally pmed Daijitsu to ban that plague known as Sporkfire for a month.
HAIL TO THE IBANEZ UTOPIA
because they're generic and nearly everyone has one
Everyone has one because they're god like for a cheap-ish price.
Not sure if it was made with a guitar, but is there any way to tab the first "electronic-sounding" part of this song or the second (starts around 0:16) more clearly sounding guitar?
Just sounds like powerchords :v:
Also,
1. PRS + Suhr
end of :colbert:
Unless you're talking custom, then who the fuck knows
Anyone have some starting out tips?
I find myself to be shit at holding the string down hard enough while at the same time not covering the next one with the same finger :frown:
I'm trying to learn some chords along with the chromatic scale but that gets rather boring after an hour or so.

If it gets boring, just YouTube some of the world's best players doing a similar exercise. It always inspires me.
You have to practice lots to get drastically better. Just remember that it all pays off. :)

Damn my short fingers. Makes it hard to reach more than 3 frets in either direction
Hopefully they begin to stretch out some from playing.

When I first started playing(about six years ago) I thought it was impossible for me to finger a G-chord
Don't make up excuses, just stretch more

The G-Chord is the first thing a friend of mine taught me and I didn't have very much trouble with it, it's more doing chromatic scale all the way down to the 4th fret. I'll keep that in mind though, any finger exercises I could be doing?

Just play the stuff you have trouble with until you can play it well
g and c are the most difficult for me
I just play the g on the low e with my thumb and mute the a string :v:
for the g chord that is
Your fingers are so small! It's tiny to me!!!
