Okay you do get it with the open G string unless you play that cool kids G with the 320033 but still
In most cases I find that it sounds better with
fuck dat
3x0033 for life

who's with me
Did anyone first learn chords in the "CAGED" order?
Nope, I just kind of learned them.
So did I.
My friend thought it was crazy that I didn't learn them in order of "CAGED" Or whatever. But what's the point? Is there a purpose?
People with their "rules" in theory are stupid.
Theory is to be applied to assist in making music sound nicer, but there is not always need for it.
I learned the shapes before I learned open chords :v:
I'm listening to Periphery's album. Except INSTRUMENTAL
This is marvelous.
:v: Hey! I might like Line 6 and I might get voted off but I still did not saw anyone here in this thread getting a better recording tone! :unsmith:
Pfagh I say to you. PFAGH!
Nah seriously I love you, you crazy Line 6 loving weirdo of indeterminate nationality.
How hard is it normally to install passive pickups? I'm considering buying a pair D-Activators (or something else that's still flat but without an onboard preamp), but if swapping my 707s for them would be a bitch I'd probably just fuck it and get some EMG x series stuff instead.

I wrote a crazy chord sequence and I have no idea what key it is in
Sometimes I wish I knew more theory :v:
I wish I had lessons :saddowns:
My mom won't pay for it because she says my dad doesn't pay for enough, and it's a pain trying to convince him too.
Divorces ftl.

Swapping for passives requires some work. You need new pots and probably a new jack, and you'd probably need to clip the wings the screwholes are on by a small amount to make them fit. At which point they might look a bit daft since passive sized pickups are much smaller, but you can get oversized rings or EMG active sized covers to make them look better. I don't have any links on me, but I think there's a sticky on SS.org
I've been kind of going through the chords in order in my book, but I learned G and E7 first.

I'm taking a guitar class in highschool.
Otherwise, I would have the same problem.
I wish I had lessons too. But, I also find I'm an okay self learner. It's more of a "What do I learn next" type problem.

We have to pay for ours in school, and there's a waiting list.

I wish more girls gave a damn about real guitar players like in the good old rock/metal days.
Just look in the right places. Most girls I know go a bit mushy when you can actually play more than Wonderwall.
Does anyone know what this beast is called?

I like my guitar lessons, if its during a class you can just leave :v:
Maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and make £40 of my £50 pocket money (a month) pay for lessons...

Please write it down here and I will try to figure it out.

The lyre guitar.

My bassist and drummer have problems with this riff that I made. More so a pattern you could call it.

I've come up with that same exact thing.
it sort of reminds me of flight of the bumblebee

I can get by with a stereo jack regardless, and surely somewhere sells sets with pots included (I think EMG does), I'm more worried about getting 'em to sit right and be the right distance from the strings.
Eh, fuck it, I'll see if I can return pickups at GC if I don't like 'em and try a pair of blackouts or x series stuff.

Open.
If what you're doing is completely fucking crazy or has too much chromatic or sub-semitonal movement to justify assigning a set key to it, you can call it open key. It's normally used for atonal stuff but I've seen (and written) a few pieces for traditional ensembles in open key before.
Grr no matter how many times I try, I can't prevent my first finger from touching other strings when I'm playing a chord. Whenever I play the G Chord, it mutes the G string itself.
Practice is the key
