Peeking in at this thread, will probably do so more often. Got a book to teach me to play guitar at christmas and I've been learning quite alot lately. So yeah, another noob at the party! :buddy:
Man barrechords are horrible to take, gonna take alot of practice for me.

Yeah I figured because to be honest even though they're hard to take I really like them.

Just do some finger and wrist excercises. It helps with this and a whole load of stuff later on if you've got flexible hands. Also, welcome to the wonderful world of guitar. And this thread full of opinionated dicks like me!
I've been playing piano for 6 years so I figured it would help me on the way - wich it does. Both technique and theory.
I currently hate my playing. Discuss, or don't
I'm actually quite happy at the speed I've been progressing :buddy: I can pretty much play most of the rhythm for Seek & Destroy by metallica now but it's still pretty rough
on a brighter note, all my pedals came today.
im going to start playing now so i will see you all in about a week :P
What Blackstar product is that?

I was like that with my singing for a while. Just remember that it's better to think you're worse than you actually are than to think you're amazing when you're not. I'm sure your playing is fine. And remember that it's quite a feat just to be able to play for most people.
I'm not very happy with my playing skills at all. I can't really do anything above average.
Hopefully getting new bass today, got my eyes on this

yeah I'm stuck playing all the same runs and rhythms
need to make new material
Recording? Writing material? Written material? Order your tracks like this:
1. Make this a fast paced track that goes for 4 minutes to keep the listener listening.
2. Follow this up with another fast paced track, the listener is now convinced it is a good album
3. Make this a rather lengthy track, but not too repeditive. Have an acoutic or clean intro, then super climactic and heavy, then make sure the track fades out
4. Have a slower paced but interesting song here, still shortish but not too short
5. Heres your filler space
6. Now have a 3 minute attackingly fast song to wake the listener back up
7. Ballady type song. Have a clean picked tacky guitar with a 4 semitone harmony solo over it, then build up very well, to have the last few riffs using fourths rather than power chords to give it a sad angry feel
8. Very lengthy song 7-8 minutes, break the middle with a memorable clean section, then lead off into another bunch of melodies only to return with the content of the first half to finish off the track
9. Instrumental to make the listener want more. Helps your next album sell
Congratulations, you win
I just want to skip forward a year or five to when I'll actually notice a substantial speed increase.
Life should be like Deus Ex- I should be able to go from being a novice to an expert in any field in about a week just because I explored some closets.
track 12 is my favorite
I like experimentation in music :buddy:

After listening to Paul Gilbert's Fuzz Universe album like 3 times. It helped inspire! (Although...I'm NOWHERE close to Paul Gilbert's skill.)

On another note, anyone who posts that Jaqueline bitch in any Guitar Disussion thread in the future gets bombarded with dumb ratings.
We must make this rule official

He also has an adam's apple visible in other vids, and if I could be arsed to find the original on Nicowhatever he admits to it.
Unrelated, why am I getting pain in my thumb from alternate picking? It wasn't there when I started the switch to the "conventional" grip or whatever, it's a recent thing. Doesn't seem to change regardless of whether I have my thumb pressed flat or bent, or whether I'm pinching tight or loose.
That's Japan for ya.
